Phonak Infinio Sphere Hearing Aids I90

I’ve been wearing aids for about a year or so, so not entirely new to them. The audiologist recommended that I use the Phonak Sphere aids because of the Artifical Intelligence chip but to be honest, I really can’t tell how this is supposed to improve everything. Admittedly I’m not very tecchie so probably not making the most of the IT. I have moderate hearing loss.

I’ve had severe bruxism (TMJ) since I was in college.

For years, I also complained about clogged ears. Doctors kept telling me I have Eustachian tube dysfunction and my PCPs kept telling me that I had to take Sudafed, decongestants , etc Like others here, I also had tinnitus.

The clogged ear feeling is the reason ENTs sent me to an audiologist years ago.

Recently I saw another ENT and I was diagnosed with the opposite: Patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction (The tubes are not closing). New treatment plus stopping decongestants has helped me a lot. The best part: my tinnitus is gone!

I get Botox for my TMJ and headaches and it has been a life saver! The effect only lasts 3 to 4 months but it’s so worth it. Your story sounded like mine – I thought it would be cool to share it with you.

This is SO similar to my experience - thank you for sharing. It is great that your tinnitis has gone! I had the same advice i.e. decongestants, none of which helped. Like you I have bruxism (TMJ) which was spotted by my dentist and I was also told that I have Eustachian tube dysfunction. I also have been wondering about Patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction and my TMJ consultant has suggested another ENT. Great to hear that the Botox for TM J has been so successful both for the ear pressure and the headaches. I’ve been a bit unwary about Botox injections but I am so fed up with this that I am now coming round to having them done.

Of course, and the TMJ and the ear are in such close proximity! While I don’t seem to have TMJ Syndrome, I do have a small right ear canal compared to the size of my left. It’s even smaller when my mouth is closed, so to insert my right HA reciever I have to open my mouth wide. Honestly, I wonder how many people also have to do that?
