It does depend on your own hearing loss. I used my Resound Vivias in the Hearing in Noise program in a restaurant today and it made my own voice sound really weird. I ended up using All Around as the best compromise, as the restaurant wasn’t too noisy.
Last week I tried out the Jabra Enhanced Pro 30s in the noisiest restaurant that I know, “Texas Roadhouse”. The Hear in Noise function worked extremely well and I could easily hear my wife, my adult daughter, and the waiter. I don’t recall my own voice sounding weird or unusual in any way. The only drawback to using the, “The hear in Noise”, function is that the chip requires more power and it reduces your battery capacity, if you forget to switch back to, “All Around”, function. GN’s engineers should design the next iteration of the app to automatically recognize a less noisy environment and switch the app back to, “All Around”, mode.

I agree, given all the marketing effort put into using you would think they could actually use AI.
How hard would it be to write a few lines of code that says:
If noise or sound is > a certain level goto “hear in noise” program.
if noise or sound then drops < a certain level goto last program used.
