Cochlear is claiming to have the first to have upgradable firmware but AB has been able to do this for 20 years.
To clairify. The new Nexa internal device can be updated and upgraded to a newer version. It has firmware that can be changed. Kind of like new generations of hearing aids that have the same hardware but get software changes that make a new hearing aid generation. This is totally new in the cochlear internal implant arena.
Maybe you are thinking about the processors???
I am no wiz about this stuff but I’m pretty sure about this. I too am not worried about this new technology. It just might be a big problem but I don’t think so. Cochlear has been working on it and testing it since 2006 if I remember correctly.
