I am wondering if anyone has tried the most recent CIGNA pure‘s as well as the Oticon intent or the phone sphere. I only have a few days to make a decision when I go back to the United States, and I won’t be able to do any more trial periods since I go back in frequently. I would get them in Europe, but they’re even more expensive and I have an insurance policy in the US that covers part of it. The ability to control which microphones are active, has certainly been helpful in specific circumstances, but not if I’m sitting in the middle of a restaurant for example and there’s noise coming from all sides. And when I went to a concert, I had to push up on my outer ear to hear clearly, and got much more sound in than I am with him otherwise. I realize that could be something addressed by real ear or perhaps a different tip.
I hadn’t paid any attention to the Aura cast because I figured I’d have to buy a new TV. I’ve learned a lot from your discussion and I think that could also be a deciding factor.
You asked about Signia, as quoted above:
I don’t know if my Signia Pure are the absolute latest model (ordered July 2025), but I wrote above of the features earlier. I also like being able to aim the direction from which sound is picked up.
I messed up on the computer & hearing aid streaming description. I didn’t explain well. The fact that my computer can stream to the hearing aids directly hasn’t anything to do with which hearing aid brand. I believe that any BTLE hearing aid will work. This feature is the computer’s feature. No app, device or phone was required.
I just went to the Accessibility Settings menu & there I saw “Hearing Devices” section. Pair them once and that’s it. You can, for convenience, put control access on the menu bar.
