We don’t know. For example, even firmware update has given relative much benefits regardless its costless nature. I only hope Phonak will not make Sphere versions with smaller batteries.

In Target software your audiologist can make transition speed in your AutoSense program to maximum (like 10s, the slowest is probably 35s).

can also set lower threshold of noise necessary to activate Spheric Speech in Noise mode in your AutoSense.

Nowhere. Phonak almost perfectly releases its next generation of hearing aids every two years. That was the case with Paradise in 2020, that was the case with Lumita in 2022 and Infinio in 2024.

IIRC (but I’m less sure), the Marvel was also released in Aug 2018.

The same was true for the Naidas (power ): they were released just a few months before the new generation of (Audeo). Naida Lumity in Spring 2024, so maybe Naida Infinio will be out in a few months.

The power requirement is quite large in dual-chip designed Spheres, and with a smaller battery, they will probably lose their outstanding battery life on one charge, so I think shrinking the housing can be risky.
On the other hand, perhaps they’ll implement in smaller housings (like in currently non-Sphere Infinio R), and there will also be a second lineup, like “Ultra” in Samsung smartphones.

Hoping for Naida Sphere with disposable aid. No one likes to travel with a battery charger, and where I live, we have power outages fairly often. There are pros and cons to both batteries, as has been discussed. Yet when someone is forced to start using power aids, they need Power. I’d rather have my power aid performance slightly decline towards the end of disposable battery life - say ten, eleven days, versus decline towards the end of daily battery charging. We all know the Infinio Sphere substantially increases battery drain when operating in background noise mode. Battery drain could be higher with the Naida Sphere since it’s a bigger aid.

Yes, I meant to say WITH disposable batteries also! (or WITHOUT rechargable)

It is highly unlikely:

  1. Sphere feature requires higher voltage - Li-ion has 3.7V or slightly more compared to disposables zinc-air 1.45V. Another non-AI features are also better and more stable with higher constant voltages.
    Resound Enzo IA has 4-5 days of use in one charge so rechargeable is not necessarily much worse compared to disposables, regarding better features it can provide.

  2. My charger for Sphere is very small and have internal battery, which can provide at least one week charging. I would have to have this case anyway, whether I had a rechargeable or a disposable battery.

  3. I always have power banks because of having a smartphone, so charging weren’t a problem even with my Paradise charger with no internal battery.

You seem quite wise concerning Phonak products. I have researched the Phonak website and they show 2 new models:

Phonak Audéo Infinio (Ultra) Sphere™ And

Phonak Audéo™ Infinio (Ultra) R

They are quite similar in most features. Except Sphere. Do you have an opinion which would be best? I have profound loss left ear and severe in right. I currently wear Starkey Genesis Edge with but the CROS seems to mostly a waste of time. Thanks.

Sphere is clearly best unless you throw the cros in there. Sphere won’t do cros. Even if you’ve used cros before, I’d say give sphere a try. I don’t know if you’ll get even juice for your profound ear. They have “UP” but they are still just rics. Hoping they. Come out with sphere soon for the profound folks! Some folk use sphere in ssd situations. Beats old cros for them.

I’m clearly not the best on the forum, but I try to keep up and not steer anyone wrong. I’m always saying (of myself) even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while. I’m always open to correction.

I heard any major tech advancement over Deepsonic chip is not coming in 2026 or 27 min. A hard prediction indeed. I just wouldn’t wait till August 2026 and bght last month and enjoying the best now. I’m old guy.
