Your ideal hearing aid forum?

Spam was the first folder I checked. Maybe a rule about re-using the same user / pass on the new forum? Just guessing. I’m an old retired IT guy and programmer back in the day. I never did enjoy web page design much. Kudos to your work on the new forum though!

I don’t know if this has already been mentioned…

IMO it is not intuitive how to reply directly to a specific post in a thread, as opposed to a general reply.

I don’t remember if that guy had beyond abr for a user name. Can I just say abr*? Or combine asterisk-ram-asterisk ored with asterisk-raham-asterisk ?? Maybe that’s too much. My brain is fuzzy sometimes. I’m not great with names. If I put the whole username in the keywords part of the search, it pulled some results right up, but put partial with or without asterisk, it couldn’t find anything.

Turns out setting a password this way will not be supported and it was failing silently. This is why you never received an email. I would suggest that you use the “magic link” option first. If you really want to set a password, apparently the password reset will work.

I’m working on the login flow to clean it up for people that attempt this in the future.

Please note that pages are faster once they’ve been loaded the first time… so after I deploy any code changes, first page loads can be slower. This is due to edge caching provided by vercel… once the page has been requested it enters the edge cache and is very fast on next load. Once the forum is in regular use, deployments will be more rare, so speed should be much better than it has been historically.

As an occasional visitor I am often put off by so many abbreviations in some posts. Of course regulars know them all. Anyway if there could be a way to be able to highlight the abbreviation and have the letters spelled out would be quite helpful.
