Hearing aids on eBay dissapeared?

The market size here is tiny compared to eBay. More here probably want to sell than buy but perhaps not if they can’t buy on eBay.

ATTENTION ALL HEARING CARE PROVIDERS. I am absolutely fed up! If you hold a license to dispense hearing aids or you're a Doctor of Audiology, I need you to watch Adam's video. He lays out, step by step, how to contact your Attorney General, your...
I’m not entirely sure, but I think it’s indirectly related to the topic…

This hearing aid disappearance is not the first time it has happened on eBay. Hopefully this situation will lessen again.
The sellers will find a way around the hurdles. There are just too many used hearing aids in the market to not sell them.

Can someone point me to listings here? I’ve been trying to find specific hearing aid model and ebay got nothing anymore.

The issue with our classifieds is that what happens if the units are faulty or there’s an issue with the transaction?
One thing I’ve learned about this forum is that most active participants with a history tend to be genuine and trustworthy, and I would feel comfortable buying from them. However, I’m hesitant to buy from new people who have just joined the forum to sell the aids or who are not active in our community. I’ve seen plenty who join and dissapear shortly afterwards.

Plus, unless the seller amends their post, there is no way of knowing if the item is still available. In addition unsold items eventually fall way down the list to a point that nobody is likely to find them.

All good points, but if you pay by PayPal or credit card there’s at least some protection, yeah we really need to see how this plays out, it’s bot that’s made the decision on eBay so maybe some human interaction intervention could review it

Hi as far as my knowledge eBay consider as prescription items and It’s prohibited to sell them on eBay. This happens 6 years ago but this time is different and permanent. If there’s something I can help please let me know. I do run a Refurbished service.

I just reviewed eBay for hearing aid listings. There are some but significantly the expression “hearing aid” is not used. Most of the titles are just the name and model but they are in the “hearing aids” listing category.

I found a post on Facebook by somone who tried to sell a pair of hearing aids on fleabay in 2024 only for them to be taken down.
He was told “My listing was taken down as a violation of eBay’s Medical Devices Policy, which prohibits the sale of that can only be sold by audiologists. I called eBay support to complain, since there were many other Oticon listings there, and they told me the F.D.A. had specifically flagged my eBay listing for take-down, and I had no recourse.”

the “hearing aids” listing category.
Which begs the question of why there still is a “hearing aids” category. Just for ? That category has existence since long before OTC devices were lawful to sell, at least in the US.

I think the existence of a “hearing aids” selling category dates back to when eBay allowed listings for hearing aids as long as they were accompanied by the long winded disclaimer about them needing professional adjustment before use.

I observed prices of hearing aids on eBay, it seems like that are much higher as compare to prices we have here in Pakistan, like wise accessories are expensive too, we here in Pakistan deal with hearing aids ranging from $200 to $1500, like signia phonak oticon rexton unitron and other hearing aid brands

$200 to $1500
What models are available at that price (not just the brand)? That price range is very low.
