I recently upgraded my phone from a iPhone 7 to 11. With the 7 bluetooth worked great for voice call clarity. I got the 11 a few days ago. Every phone call has heavy static on both sides. It still works great for music etc. Has anyone experienced this issue?

The fixed bandwidth is sure worth a try. It fixed me up with a Samsung phone and Audeo M aids.
This change has to be done in the Target software.

I have no issues with an iPhone 11 Pro and “Bluetooth phone call” set to “Adaptive bandwidth.” (The alternative is “Fixed bandwidth.”) The tooltip for this setting reads, “If enhanced sound quality is needed select ‘Adaptive bandwidth’. Note: this may not be supported by all phones.”

The setting is in the Target fitting software at Device Options :: Bluetooth.

I have Phonak marvels (=ks9s) which behave pretty much like your resounds. If I am listening to music or on a phone call with sound piped through to my h/a and then start the car, the sound re-routes to the car Bluetooth. There is a bit of a delay, maybe a second or two, as the phone switches from the aids to the car audio. When I switch the car off, the sound goes back through the aids.
This behavior works through my Subaru and via CarPlay with my VW.

I know. But it seems helpful to be able to visualize the setting, for some reason. And, it allows you to adjust the volume, which apparently isn’t possible using the buttons on the aids. I know I could use the buttons on the device itself, but I’d need to get up from my chair to do that.

The balance is basically the volume of the tv in relation to the volume in the room. Adjusting either the phone or the buttons on your aids or the buttons on the device all do the same thing - bring down the volume of the TV transmitter in your hearing aids. At least it does for me. My initial TV volume is WAY too loud and the first thing I have to do is take it all the way down. From there I bump it up just one button push. Sometimes I leave it as low as it goes. I wish there was a way to preset it that low so I don’t get the blasting tv signal. Anyone have any ideas?

I have Marvels, group of posts I was replying to had several mentions of Marvels so thought question was referenced to Marvels as they come up a lot in KS9 threads. If I was mistaken that’s my bad and sorry for the confusion.

Actually, I was hoping you’d found a way of using KS9s with the Phonak app. No worries.

My TV Connector is setup with “Auto” on-off. It comes on automatically when the TV is on and my KS9s are in the Automatic Program; but not when they are in a Manual program. Is this normal?

I’m using the Costco TV Transmitter with my KS9s.

The one advantage of the APP is that you can also reduce the overall volume level, in addition to changing the balance between and volume from the room. At least that’s the way I see it working.

That is the way mine were set up initially. There is an option to require the TV Connector to be manually selected, just as another program. It will show up as the last selection in your list, whenever the TV Connector is within range.

I thought it would be helpful to post a picture of the K9s with the feature. They seem to be only slightly larger. One advantage I have noticed is that it is easier to open and close the battery doors. My previous K9s were impossible to open while I was wearing them. These are a bit easier, but still feel substantial.

I believe Costco now gives buyers the option of with and without the T-Coil Note the packaging that shows the T-Coil version as “9.0 T.”

Actually there are two manual TV connector choices plus the automatic.
One manual TV connector has a doorbell sound when television is on and you have 5 seconds to touch the aids button to activate it. The other manual selection is silent and you have to hold the aid button long like when changing manual programs.

I didn’t realize that was an option. I think I would like that–might ask for the change. Thanks.

It’s the one I use. Handy to just touch the button to activate TV. If you don’t want to hear that TV don’t touch the aids button.

My wife likes the auto one.

It would be really useful if the mobile app would show in real-time what program is being auto-selected. I wonder this often when I am in a situation where I like or dislike what program my are selecting, but I cannot know for sure.
