Default volume on the Oticon TV Adapter 3.0

Switch off program change (beep) No need anything at all if you have iphone. No need at all. My audi was shocked why I dont’t need that. I hate them. Like a hammer in ma ears and waiting for the end of bing-bing-bing-bing was awful. No need at all. Try it. Much better when change in silence. Much more better.

While it’s true that you don’t need the program tone if you use the ON app on your iPhone to see which program you’ve selected, I would rather not bother with taking out the iPhone and open up the ON app just to change programs. For me a single push on the hearing aid’s button to change programs is much simpler than several steps it takes to to get the iphone, then to the ON app, then change program.

You can set the program change volume to “Soft” so it doesn’t sound like hammer in your ear. But doing it my way without the ON app or the iPhone, I’d want to hear the beeps to know/confirm which program I’ve changed to.

Try it without beeps. You can follow where are you and much much much more comfortable using aids in silent. I love it!

I’ve had instances where my OPNs misbehave and fail to communicate with each other. Not often enough to be an issue, but enough to be a concern to want to make sure that they both change program in lock step. Without a confirmation beep, it’s hard to tell. Maybe there’s more interference where I live that causes this to happen.

Beside, the beeps don’t bother me at all even at normal beeping volume setting. And I have all 4 programs set, so with the beep, it’s easier to keep track of which program I’m in. I don’t always remember which program I’m in after I’ve been using that program for a while.

I have had my OPN 1 and now OPN S 1 aids go out of lockstep. The best way I’ve found to remedy this is to kill the ON app (if running) and then power cycle the iPhone. Things tend to stay in sync if I do that and the longer the phone is running (many days), the more likely the aids get out of sync. The other thing that causes this for me is having the aids paired to multiple iOS devices (iPhone and iPad for example) and bluetooth on for both devices. We may also have sufficient bluetooth and wifi devices in our house (and nearby ones) to have interference

This happened with an ancient iPhone 6 with the current (for it) iOS and now with an iPhone 12 mini with iOS 14.3 and the OPN S 1 aids (firmware 8.0).
