Good luck with the Enzo. I assume you are getting the top of the line which is the Q 98. I’d be interested to hear what programs you selected and of course your view on sound quality/clarity. In my opinion the only true power aids on the market now (2020) are the Enzo Q and the Oticon Xceed. 675 battery is a plus and I think you’ll find the Resound Enzo has more adjustment levels (software wise) versus the Xceed.

Well I wasn’t impressed with the xceed. Powerful aids but I don’t like how they handled background noise. It gave everything a very deep bass sound. Not natural at all. And yes their app was limited. So I’m looking forward to trying the Enzo q. And yes I expect them to be the 98

The app was updated yesterday to 3.0.4. Didn’t specify what bug fixes there was or that they added compatibility with the Naída, but they finally did. I’ve been trying out the Naída M90 for almost a month now. Coming from the Q90, and using the calm noise program, I changed it slightly to match closer to my Q90s. I’ll have more to say soon.

Hi,
I’m getting ready to try the Naida Marvel after maxing out the KS9 during the trial and finding it not quite powerful enough.
Currently trying to decide between the M90 and M70. Can anyone who has tried the M90 tell me if the additional programs such as Speech in Car and Speech in Loud Noise are worth the premium over the M70? I will only be getting one for the right side.

I’d go with M70 since you seem to have decent hearing in your other ear. I trialed the M90 and couldn’t get the gain in needed for my severe hearing loss. I tend to think the M90 and M70 ’s are good for someone with a mild to mid-range hearing loss. If you have a severe to profound loss, there are better hearing aids on the market. My M90’s didn’t do well in loud noise and I didn’t particularly care for “autosense” mode, though I didn’t detect any audible/clicking noise when autosense activated. You can always try the M70 under trail test period and if it doesn’t do the trick then return and move up to M90.

If they operate like the Audéos, you won’t even be able to use the most sophisticated features like Speech in Loud Noise with a single aid so there’s no point in getting the highest end one. They pass audio between them and process together to weed out the voice from the noise. One aid can only do front to back localization, not side to side.

Thanks for the responses - I’ve got an M70 on the way now. My audi confirmed that all those M90-exclusive programs require 2 to work.

My audiologist contacted Phonak and they will release the UP version of the Phonak Naida based on the Marvel platform sometime in the fall.

Only speech in loud noise needs 2 , from what I’ve seen in programming sw (target). On audeos, though, I didn’t look at other, but I’d expect same tech on M90 vs M70 throughout the models.

Funny. The last I heard phonak has no intentions of releasing an up naida in the marvel format. Time will tell.

I remember reading last year Phonak would come out with a Up version of the Phonak Naida based on the Marvel platform in fall of 2019. Well that didn’t happen. So this time Terost did Phonak Rep. say the UP Phonak Naida (M) is schedule for release this fall (to your audiologist) or was it more like the Naida (M) might come out at a later dater with no release date mentioned?

I was told that the UP model will come with the next generation of Bluetooth aids, it won’t be released with the Marvel.

Timing is right for Phonak to offer UP model since its most power hearing aid (in Marvel group) is T-13 and that’s been out close to two years. I’ll go with Terost’s guess, since post says his/her audiologist contacted Phonak directly. Of course a second verification would be nice.

What hearing aid are you talking about here?
The Naida M SP came out a few months ago.

Yes the Naida M SP is new and should stand a level above the M T-13. Though their fitting charts are really close. They both also use size 13 battery so one might have a hard time telling the difference between the two. If Phonak can produce a UP model come fall great but with the recent Naida M SP entry, it might be a little early for a “true power” Phonak aid to come out in four/five months. Thanks for filling in (my missing link) Raudrive.

My audiologist called phonak today and the woman he spoke says there are no plans for a marvel naida in up. Especially since it would only result in a 1db increase in power over the sp. Of course do you really believe anything a manufacturer says. Their claims regarding what their hearing aids can do is borderline ridiculous.

This is what my audiologist told me by email:
I was told by our rep that the UP for Naida Marvel would likely come out this fall (August-October). They have already released the SP. UP aids usually use the 675 battery because extra gain is needed for those with severe profound hearing loss.

Pre-announcement is alway nice, but I tend to think its a “rarity” by hearing aid manufacturers. But if your information is correct Terost, one would think a call to Phonak say August would confirm the matter either way.

I have contacted Phonak in January regarding the UP version and got 2 responses - in February they told me that an UP version is not planned for the Marvel platform but at the end of May I received a new answer stating that in the Fall we will have more information about upcoming products. The reason for not releasing an UP version are issues with the integration of their modified Bluetooth Classic version used in the Marvel platform. It would be nice if these issues are fixed and Naida M UP hit the market in the Fall. Naida UP is among the most popular ultra power devices and definitely many UP users are waiting for such an update.
