That tells me a firmware update should be forthcoming (And also that you’ll probably have to buy a new phone but…#androidlife).

Agreed with your interpretation. However, I don’t think I would buy any device for some future expected capability. I think if I were getting Widex Moments, I’d get an iPhone. Who knows when they will be compatible and currently phones are pretty limited: Pixel 3 and 4 series and some recent Samsung models. Hopefully in a few years this whole compatibility issue will be sorted out and there will be one standard.

All fair. Also fair, Samsungs are generally the best selling Android phone so that the S9, S10, and S20 (and purportedly this month the latest A series) have it for Android isn’t that much of a handicap.

After many years of Android I bought the iPhone for the Evokes as did my son for his F2s, although I could use android with the Evokes & Com-Dex. The first couple of days I was a bit thrown but now much prefer iPhone. They are the best hearing aids for us by a mile so made sense to keep it easy.

Hey @ziploc, my previous were Phonak Audeo Q90, 7 years old, and I’ve been trialling OPN, Marvel and Evokes along the last 6 months. All models I tested were better than the Audeo…not much surprise I guess.
Today I will get the Power receivers and (hopefully, if the fit is the same as for the Evokes) also my custom earmolds.
In a few days I will be able to tell you all more and complete my review.
One note: I haven’t seen it written anywhere but the Moment Rechargeable HAs have wireless (contactless actually) charging, really convenient.

Good question, but Widex don’t even mention this in their marketing and, as said, I couldn’t find more info on their website.
Maybe someone has a direct contact who can answer this question? @AbramBaileyAuD?

So I got the Power receivers, had the fitting done with Sensogram and got the firmware update, through my iphone Moment app…!
Good, but still some work to be done to solve feedback issues.
Got confirmation that TV Play will be compatible with a future firmware update (hope earlier than late fall) and all other Dex accessories should work.
Next appointment tomorrow, to work on the feedback issues.
See you soon.

Has anyone here tried to charge them with a Qi wireless charging pad? Looks like it could be possible.

Well, I’ve had intermittent connectivity problems with my Moments. And finally the right one just disconnected and was done. I took it out and like an idiot put it in my scrubs pocket. Got home and it was gone. And since it malfunctioned, I can’t locate it with the app. So I basically lost it because it malfunctioned. I believe Widex is going to consider this when replacing it under warranty. But I won’t get a new one until official launch hopefully early summer. And they will have a firmware update to address the connection issues and maybe even TV Play.

Ok so I guess it’s been at least a week and maybe just a bit longer since I lost my right side Moment . I’ve had two of my patients looking but nothing…until yesterday! I got a txt from a patient’s daughter (who also wears aids and knows the importance of a lost one) that she found my aid! I couldn’t believe it! She went outside and actually found this gray HA in some gravel. I don’t know how she possibly spotted it there. But it has lain outdoors for this week and been rained on and surprisingly not run over (at least I don’t guess so). So I got it yesterday and planned to keep it in rice overnight to dry it out but wanted to see if it would respond to the charger. When the charger lit up, I left it overnight. Voila, this morning it is working fine and immediately connected to my app. This is testimony to the quality of this hearing aid! I’m thinking it may be bulletproof!!! Can’t wait for the firmware update to fix the connectivity issue AND TV Play! @Spindel Qi charger does not work.

That’s a great story with a even better ending. I am tempted to mention putting the aid in a hearing aid dryer for any chance if moisture getting into the aid.
Thanks for sharing.

Today I’m going to visit the audi and get impressions done for new earmolds (feedback issues), get the Pro Link for remote care and close the deal…
BTW: last week I got the Com-Dex and have been able to synch the aids with my laptop and two LG TVs, all direct connections. Com-Dex is very light and working well.

What are you using to connect wirelessly to laptop and tv, is it just via the com-dex? I have Custom Evokes and use com-dex to stream music from I-phone or calls but would need fm-dex for laptop or tv dex for tv.

WOW, glad someone found it that new who it belonged to. Amazing it still works, must be sealed up very well.

I hope the update is before my trial ends. I’m not sure I will get them due to having to reconnect the app two, three times a day. Also, one will just turn off, I guess that’s what’s happening. I have to push and hold the power button on the aid twice to get it back.
I’ve noticed when reading the app reviews of other brand of ’s they all complain of connectivity issues, so that may be the case with all HA’s.

While I do use the app for my aids I did not choice the aids for the app, I have my aids due to the sound, and the fact they have given me the best speech understanding that I have ever had.
Hearing aids are to allow you to understand speech better, and even then the best aids can only help and will never give you your normal hearing back. Yes, I need the streaming of phone calls to both ears to be able to use a phone. So that is important but I do not have to have the app to do that, and I do not know of any aids that requires the app to hear phone calls.

Totally agree, if the aids are tuned well enough you don’t have to be switching between programs. The way mine are now, if I don’t switch, I cannot understand spoken words. That’s one of my questions when I go back to the audi Friday, will I ever be able to put aids on in the morning and not worry about them until I take them off at night?

I will be going Monday morning for my hearing test, and choosing new hear aids, at least that is what I believe now. While, I do have extra programs they are for things like lecture halls, and a program that completely mutes my aids while I have my helmet on and I am riding my Vespa Scooter. I also have the tinnitus relief program that I use when my tinnitus decides to be a big pain. Most of the time no I only need my default program and that encludes watching TV. I do have the TV adapter for when I need to understand more clearly what is being said.
I do have aids that have the capacity to change volume and programs from the aids themselves, but the little controls can be a pain to do correctly.

The problem I have at work is my office has concrete floors and hardwood walls. The setting I use in the office will not work out in the shop area (big open area where air tools and such are being used) which I go into many times a day. I’m constantly switching between the two and I’m not sure any kind of tuning will be good for both places.
