Starkey moulds,
I’ve been getting my ear moulds from Boots since 2011 and they’ve always used Starkey. I’ve been impressed.

Thanks.
It’s not something you can turn on or off so the term was completely lost in my brain. At least I couldn’t find it back then when we talked about it.
So if you wear 2 aids, they’re immediately using it. For all things.
If you wear one aid, of course, it cannot be used.
So yes, stereo zoom needs 2 aids and their 4 mics to work as intended. It’s not that the program will be disabled though, it will just say in the programming sw that it won’t work properly.
And I can confirm, using one aid only, I didn’t feel any benefit of speech in any noise except the cons of not hearing anything from that side because of noise cancelling involved. But I can’t say if it was normal noise or loud noise program, since whole aid was almost useless to me in such environments. Especially since without aid on normal hearing ear I’ll get the noise in, and we’ll struggle to get the info out of that mess.
With two aids is definitely easier, since both ears get noise cancelling
I started with open domes on both, but now I’m at vented dome for normal ear and power dome for bad ear, main reason was to profit from all that noise processing and needing less amplification (battery usage) for streaming. But everyday usage also became better, with now really feeling the difference between those two noise+speech programs. At the beginning I had loud noise to kick in very very soon (open domes), but now with closed ones, I had to put loud noise to wait until it’s really really loud.
In short - passive noise cancelling works

Yes you can. When I wore 2 x I had it turned off but programs like Speech in Loud Noise, Speech in 360 and speech in wind won’t work.

Where you can turn it off?
I know that you can do 2 aids for 2 clients, but this I couldn’t find, neither for marvels nor now for paradises.
Is it possible that they changed it?
You’re ignoring this member’s posts.
Device Options I believe?! Can’t think off hand and I’m not at home to look at the software.
You might be right about it being changed tho.
EDIT - think you’re right about QuickSync being changed. That’s disappointing. I have a friend who is a musician who can’t stand having her linked together.

I think I remember this case, you ended setting up each aid as a separate user, right?
Nothing urgent, I know I went all over options back then for that topic, and couldn’t find it. So it really looks like they removed it. Together with autoreply on phone call and switch to acoustic phone option for tcoil .
It’s more, if you find it sometime, share

When I tried “Speech in loud noise” program a couple years ago with Marvel - all incoming sound was over whelming. My Audi didn’t pre-adjust this program, so maybe a follow up visit could of calmed things down. In this mode/program there was just too much noise that over whelmed speech. Maybe as you state Blacky, the stero zoom feature in Paradise Naida has improved Loud in noise program. But you also seem to be saying different noise programs work better in various noise setting/levels. Put autosense aside since its automatic but I’m trying to determine which noise level program would work best say in a restaurant. As in hearing people talking nearby while at a dining table and dealing with restaurant background noise. So would "speech in loud noise be more appropriate for say a concert, musical venue, outdoor sporting event (old days) while “speech in noise” or “comfort in noise” is be better setting for restaurants?

Hm, yeah, I’ve tweaked all my programs, since what phonak autogenerated or defaults mostly weren’t working for me, but I have non common type of loss.
Honestly I really forgot how inital fitting and default sound like, especially since I had them just for a few hours, now 6 months ago
Speech in loud noise in my setup kicks in if I open my window (if I try hard I probably could spit on highway that goes in front of my building - just as illustration how close and noisy it is). Also, when I’m washing dishes some of them switch, but it takes too long for app to load for me to check it, too much water would be wasted for such experiment.
Outside on that road it varies between loud noise and regular noise, depending where I’m exactly.
I think in restaurant it goes with noise, but which one, speech or comfort, no clue. I need roger mic there so I’m not paying attention.
However, I do not switch manually. So, aids could switch around much more, these are the situations where I’m painfully aware of noise and happy when I hear my aids kick in. Ok washing dishes isn’t necessary to be recognised as a loud noise, but, I can live with that
Yeah, and my setup is put on much more reactive than default, so, by design, in default settings aids shouldn’t recognise some situations as in my case - loud noise, but ‘just’ noise.
However, best rule of thumb is - try and test for your hearing and your environments.
Main difference between speech in noise and speech in loud noise is that in the latter there’s no possibility to adjust directionality of mic, while in the first case, it is possible, but most forward focus is a bit less than the forward focus (stereo zoom) that loud noise program brings.
Comfort vs speech in loud noise, if I’m not mistaken both can be equally adjusted, and comfort will trigger when aids don’t detect speech. In short, I can’t say that I’ve ever caught it in the app. I managed to catch loud noise, car, noise and normal but that’s it.
Checking in which program it currently is is cumbersome, because it takes long for aids to connect to the phone, then you need to click into options, and back and forth to notice the current one.
Stupid user interface.
I played around with it for a few weeks, but then I just lost the energy to wait it to load, so, no clue anymore when it is in which program exactly.

Has anyone worn the Naida Paradise SP (rechargeable)? I’ve been wearing the UP version with the 625 battery for 3 weeks. I’m hearing better than I ever have, which is wonderful. However, the aids are not comfortable for me. I have small ears and wear glasses so there’s not much room back there. In addition to feeling heavy on my ears, the UPs sometimes pop up if I lean down. I’ve got the rechargeables (SP) coming to try, hoping the lighter weight and slightly smaller size will be good for me. Just curious as to how much battery life people are getting in real life? I stream phone calls and laptop sounds throughout the day and sometimes do 2 hours of TV in the evening which, by the way I am loving streaming directly to the Naida UPs while my spouse listens simultaneously at a normal sound level. I’ve been discouraged to pursue the rechargeables due to my loss but I’m willing to risk it or sacrifice with a mini charging break if the SP’s will be comfortable. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

The rechargeables Naida Paradise are not SP fitting range. They are P fitting range. They don’t have quite as much power, the rechargeables Naidas.

You’re right - I was mixing the Marvel//Paradise line. I have the Naida P-PR coming which is the only next option for me in a in the Paradise line.
If the rechargeables are lighter and more comfortable on my ears than the UP and can be programmed so I hear as well as I do with the UPs, I’ll be thankful. My loss is 80 db but rises to 30db in the highest frequencies. I’m hoping someone might have some real-world experience with battery life on the rechargeables. If not then I will share mine in a couple weeks.

Hi Teo, sounds like a reverse sloping loss, is this correct? If you post up your it would give us a better idea of your loss? Just wondering why you were fitted with an Ultra Power , if your Audiogram is not in the darkened area of the chart kindly displayed by Raudrive, then you may struggle with the Naida Paradise Power Aid BTE, then again you may not? Like you, I have the Naida Paradise UP BTE 675, and they are indeed awesome aids, fortunately I have rather big ears and I can accommodate these aids or even larger aids, no problem
, but, I empathize with your problem, I also wear glasses, I have often said I would wear aids the size of a banana if it helped me hear better. Good luck with the Power BTE. Cheers Kev

Anyone on board know the difference between “calm mode” verses general Autosense set up for Phonak Naida Paradise UP? Seems to me "calm mode should already be integrated into Autosense automatically? So what exactly is the difference?
Currently testing Naida Paradise up, but can’t figure out how to turn aids off (completely), other then opening aid battery latch. Which is a pain. There should be a way to use toggle switch to shut aids off but I don’t see any info on that in Phonak operational manual. Wonder if Audi has to set something up - so you can manually turn off aids, without taking them off and then opening battery latch.
I’m also looking into buying Partner Mic and possibly remote control. With Partner mic (when worn) user’s voice should be easier to understand, but do you all get background noise (incoming) through Mic. So say driving in a noisy car will you hear the person with Mic on talking, but also incoming car noise?
I don’t know about others but I find to Phonak Naida toggle switch (at times) not user friendly. Since you have to hold down toggle switch to get various programs for “X” seconds. And if your in a really noisy area you don’t always hear the beep/tone for the program you are hoping to transfer to. I have a tendency to leave my phone at home and find trying to adjust aids manually in noisy setting become “hit and miss”. So anyone suggest I buy the Phonak remote control which would be easier to use, or save some money and just remember to bring my iPhone along to make aid adjustments?
Appreciate any comments.

A question for you who now have NAIDA Paradise hearing aids.
How much has your speech comprehension improved compared to old hearing aids? What is your understanding of speech that flows over bluetooth, for example when watching Youtube. Can you better understand words that are in a foreign language? For example when learning foreign languages.
By the way- I recently got the Phonak Target app, so I decided to study it because later I want to customize my hearing aids myself. I realized I could tune my compilot (for my old Naida q), I turned off the voice notifications and put on a beep. The audiologist who sold hearing aids didn’t know how to do it before, so I’m glad I managed it myself ![]()
Along the way, I’ve studied the Phonak Paradise comparison between the rechargeable version and the version that uses disposable batteries, and I see that for me it’s not a rechargeable version. In one part, the line is beyond the capabilities of hearing aids. If someone buys hearing aids, they should pay attention to it but it is not clear to me, why Phonak did not allow the rechargeable version to be of the same power as the UP version. I don’t like that at all.

I have the P70 UP aids and the reason why the UP version doesn’t have motion detection is because the 675 battery doesn’t provide enough voltage for the motion sensors. The PR and the UP aids are not the same size. PR are smaller than the UP version. I wished the PR version matched the fitting range of my older Naidas V90 SP aids.

How does the P UP Naida aids compare to your V SP Naida aids in size?
Curious to see if newer UP aids are smaller than earlier UP aids.

Hello @markoo355, I have the Naida Paradise 90 UP… I also have Target and Noah Link Wireless, been struggling with my hearing lately, dropping about 5 to 10db across the board since February, perhaps a legacy of my Covid vaccination? Anyway, a few days ago I decided to alter my aids from my ’s settings, I changed algorithms from; Adaptive Phonak Digital 2.0, to; v5a Adult, and that made a massive difference with overall clarity, especially on my iPhone x, and on streaming video, everything was clearer and crisper. Good luck. cheers Kev
