I do not have KS10 yet. I checked the list of hearing aids in Target 7.1, KS10 is no listed. Since selecting a hearing aid is needed for acoustic parameters, I wonder how you programmed your KS10.

That’s strange as the description on the Costco website suggests that they use Bluetooth. Please note lines 3 and 6.

The KS10s can stream via Bluetooth. They also can use the proprietary “AirStream” which consumes less power than from what I have read.

None of the Costco ha show up on the list, however when I connect to my Brio 4 from Costco they are fully recognized. Pretty sure it’s the same for the KS 10.

Yes, the hearing aids can use Bluetooth. However the TV Connector uses AirStream technology. I think the second part of the double asterisk footnote refers to teh TV Connector and the first part to Bluetooth.

The Phonak TV connector page contains a link to Bluetooth FAQs. Yet, it also says, “The proprietary 2.4 GHz streaming protocol provides energy efficient audio streaming from any TV and stereo system.” It is somewhat confusing.

I will definitely agree that it’s confusing!
I think a lot of the issue is trademarks. Bluetooth and AirStream are both proprietary. They both use the 2.4 GHz radio frequency.

I believe that they use an signal to stream from the TV connector to your . With Bluetooth you would have a lipsync problem. Their system not only uses less power, you avoid the lipsync due to Bluetooch latency. The only Bluetooth system that doesn’t have a latency (delay) issue is APTXll, which I use with some Bluetooth headphones. Both the transmitter and the headphones have to use APTX low latency, and it is not a mainstream setup.

I thought airstream was based on LE? Hence the dramatic difference in energy/battery usage compared to BT Classic.

I’ve never heard that. All I know is that it’s proprietary, runs at 2.4 GHz and is energy efficient.

I seem to recall @jim_lewis and/or @TraderGary digging deep into the interwebs and finding some bluetooth regulatory filing by Phonak for the TV connector when discussing Marvel. No clue where that post is now, two years later…
Come to think of it, it could have come up in a food fight with @darylm.
Who remembers all that?!

When you connect a pair of KS10’s to Target then Kirkland Signature shows up as a model “Family” and KS 10.0 shows up as the connected. The Program Names and such change to the terms that the Costco KS use. For instance the KS10 adjustment “High Frequency Protect Plus” is the exact same Paradise P90 adjustment named “SoundRecover 2”. Both display the exact same fitting fine tuning tab with identical descriptions, adjustment sliders, and default settings.

I just purchased the Ks 10s and spoke to the fitter at Costco about turning on tinnitus balance.
She said that she had no idea how to do that.
I am going back to pick them up on Thursday.

Another fitter that hasn’t been through the training. Tell her to go to the GLOBAL tab and look around.

Since there are only 3 options, and any of them are a subjective attempt to possibly distract your brain, it’s quite difficult to say that one person is more “qualified” to implement Tinnitus Balance than another. It is really a bunch of fussing around with settings, as opposed to programming a hearing profile. So far, it was more of a distraction than a comfort, but it was worth a shot.

Anyone in the forum aware if we could get Titanium cShell with the KS10s in Costco?? I have asked the , they aren’t aware. I was trying to find the KS10 order form online to verify this, but to no luck.

I’m pretty sure the answer is no based on my experience with KS9. Just Acrylic and Silicone available, but their price is great at $39.95 each in the US.
