You are welcome @roybrocklebank. That is excellent, and I am glad you are sorted Roy…. As always, there are viable options if folks shop around, the “High Street” private A.uD’s, cannot compete with those prices at Boots, the actual cost price to them, is probably above or around the retail selling price at Boots? Which is a shame, as they struggle to earn a crust, in a hostile environment of free NHS aids, and heavily discounted prices at Boots, they are badly squeezed in a niche market, and let’s face it, you are not going to go to a private A.uD, and pay perhaps £5k for the exact same aids at Boots, unless the price is unimportant to you… Sonova/Phonak could help these UK private A.uD’s out, by selling their aids at a more competitive price, although I won’t hold my breath on that happening! What I didn’t explain, is that I have tried other HAs, with/without custom moulds, and they make me hear but hardly understand speach.
