Oticon Real 1 - my experience

Yeah, I like MyMusic program but haven’t used it enough to really have an opinion yet.

I got it adjusted so it’s similar to my general program in terms of volume and reduced the bass as it was a bit much for me but obv it’s without the bells and whistles including Sudden Sound stabiliser etc. I always used general program for playing music, streaming etc and to me, it sounds deeper than my OPNs, and MyMusic sounds even more so.

I had the Sudden Sound stabiliser adjusted to high today as I did find the sudden sounds a bit much on the medium setting and it’s more comfortable.

I’m getting half skeleton molds made so it is a tighter fit (comes from wearing full molds my whole life probably and do find the small ones strange to wear).

I do find the Reals have more bass compared to my OPNs. With the receivers in the ear, obviously sound isn’t having to travel down a tube compared to my BTE OPNs PP, so everything does feel more bass like, but I’m gradually getting used to them and happier with them today after some minor adjustments.

Had a trial of the Reals for a few days now and I’m finding them an improvement in speech and natural sound for me compared to the resound omnia and Starkey genesis ai. They are also the first of the 3 to stay connected to my iPhone consistently.

The performance in wind seems way better than the other two, which is really important to me as a cyclist and outdoors person.
