Getting new Oticon Real1 aids from VA

We also have season tickets to the theater shows that are at our theater, and to the lecture series, so she will keep me going to our theater.

You also may wish to consider the Lecture Program for theater, and lectures, for sure.
I use the Lecture program rather than the TV Adapter for tv audio.

Thank you I will ask about the lecture program when I go in for my appointment. I should also be getting my Real1 aids up dated to the latest firmware.

Yes, I have the L90 Lumity Life aids. I have contemplated the titanium molds … I have severe allergic reaction to either the acrylic or the semi-soft silicone. I can wear those flesh-colored plastic molds or the smoke topaz colored double domes I buy at Amazon.

My other issue with custom molds is that my ear canals swell up and go down throughout the day. I wake up and can barely poke the doubled-domes in, then they are falling out by noon, so I have to keep pushing them in the rest of the day.

I emphasize with you, I can’t deal with slipping & sliding molds.
So, in another thread there’s a discussion of features we’d like to see added.
Perhaps “Inflatable Earmolds” could be invented, and with some of the same smoke & mirrors Phonak uses for their ActiveVent tech, it could auto-detect contraction and expansion of the ear canal and adjust accordingly, hmm!

I am not sure yet which i prefer the t-coil program or the lecture program when in our church’s services. If i lower my head while usthe t-coils the sound lowers. Otherwise the sound is the same to me

Hi Chuck
I suspect this has to do with the orientation of the coil in the aid relative to the loop. In the old days hanging the hearing aids off the ear by the ear mold tubing would in some cases correct this. Looks kind of funny though! My uneducated two cents worth.

The Oticon companion beta is so much more stable than the companion app.

Glad to see that. The Companion app just disconnects randomly, so I guess I’ll go back to the beta too.
Thx for the tip!

I had my audiologist add the MyMisic, lecture and t-coil programs back to my aids. I can see the use for all of them, but I wish there was a simpler way to quickly select the needed program. Sure I could keep a smart phone in my hands all the time and look like a teenager that is clueless of the world around me but that just isn’t me. The remote control and connect clip will cycle through the programs but when I need the 4th or fifth program and I am in the first I have to cycle through all of the other programs. I which the remote and connect clip would let you choose the program number by feeling the buttons, so the device could be kept in a pocket and I could just feel the buttons and select the needed program.
