I am Using hard skeletal ear molds with the ’s. I read the pros an cons of RIC and on this website. Seems BTE may be better because the molds do not have electronics inside the ear molds.

Most rics do not have electronics in the receiver. It is usually a passive special speaker. The mics on each are more or less in the same locations. It comes down to the seal.

When I asked about it, They seem happy with the seal on the the troublesome right side hard skeletal earmold. The left mold is fine. They made 5 software adjustments on the Jabra ’s with minimal improvement. They did feedback calibration test and said the molds are fitting good. They tried plugging the right earmold vent and it did not make a difference. I’ve worn Phonak and Starkey ’s throughout my 43 years and never had this much feedback trouble.
That is why I am leaning toward going back to the BTE. Does this seem logical to you? Any other recommendations?

But for one thing that’s already been mentioned a few times, it’s not possible to have feedback if there’s no leakage? If everything else has been checked (build up of wax in your etc) then the aid is faulty something wrong with the microphones, so no amount of software adjustments will fix this, have a look here on how feedback works so you can get an understanding why we keep asking “must be sound leakage” somewhere.

I wipe my earmolds down with tissue twice a day, clean out my ears each day, and when they check the there is very little wax. Allwright, after all the research and input from the hearing tracker forum members, it seems I have a bad seal or displaced receiver on the right earmold. Since they said the vent size and feedback calibration test results were fine. If I decide to stick with ’s instead of trying ’s,
How do I get them to fix the RIC’s feedback issue?

Ask them to redo the mold and or send the unit back to the factory/manufacturer to check that it’s working as it should, they can give loaners while it’s away, this way you’ll find out how different sound with your molds.

Is that the bluetooth streaming or standard music program?
If standard there’s a hint in that, all extra/special features are turned off on this program by default, plus slightly different fine tuning settings, ask about this, by a process of elimination your fitter should be able to narrow it down to what could be causing it.

I push the button on the aid for the music program and there is no feedback wile listening to people at home or house of worship. I’ll let Costco know about this again on my upcoming appointment.
