My audiologist did not recommend ReSound HAs because of published "reviews" that "complain" about the sound quality. Yes, the sound quality differs from other brands such as Phonak. BUT, it is not bad; just different. If you are switching from another brand, it will take some time to get used to. Again, different not bad. The ReSound app is the best of all the brands I've tried. My previous, 6-7 years old, Phonak HAs utilized a "TV CONNECTOR" to transmit audio from my TV directly to my HAs. For the ReSound, I bought an Avantree Audikast 4 (currently $80 via Amazon). The audikast works well with these ReSound HAs. N.B. not all HAs have this capability. It is fairly new technology. No sound vs picture lag. The only issue that I've observed in 6+ months = we have Ring cameras that sound notifications through the same phone in which I have the App. When the Ring notification comes, it will sometimes terminate ONE hearing aid from the Audikast connection. I am disappointed in the AI control of the sound, although my disappointment may be due to my misunderstanding of what to expect. In a noisy environment, I must manually switch programs.* Even at home, I sometimes have difficulty hearing my nearby wife without raising my "gain" (volume). * Each HA has only 1 button. Each button has numerous potential purposes; two function settings allowed for each button (short vs long press). Your Audiologist sets these in the horrendously complex software. IF you buy these (or, I suspect, any modern brand of HAs), ask what settings are possible for the buttons! You will likely want to adjust volume and change programs. But there are other useful functions and you are limited in the number that can be set in any one pair of HAs. YES, all the functions can be changed via the App, but that means pulling out your phone and waking it up (if security protected), accessing the app (unless you keep it open all day, as do I) each time. This can get annoying.
The hearing aids work when they are working. They have deteriorated rapidly and had to be replace after about 6 months three times. Resound has replaced them for free, but there seems to be a problem they cannot fixx.
It still a on going project. Had a couple problems.
