ReSound Rant: Streaming user experience is terrible!

Resound has apparently had large changes in their HQ management, notwithstanding historical technical work with Apple on “” hearing aids many years ago.
I bought ReSound Prezas from Costco a few years ago, but they were apparently discontinued (right after I bought them
!). Costco is now selling some version of Jabra instead, priced now at around half of what I paid.
Thanks for your comments - I am trying to totally avoid the app, which I noticed has had several changes during the past year.
Thanks again.
Best, Bob.

Control center works, but the latest ReSound app, if your hearing aids are capable, has Auracast connectivity. Might be worth a try.

Apple has built several control features into iOS. Some of them “just work”, and some others not so much. Numerous changes to iOS and iPad OS during the past couple of years have been made to support both “Hearing Devices”, and “ Hearing Devices”, as well as the new Vision Pro system which has its own separate OS. ReSound has revised its firmware for its app (which I do not use!) at least six times during the past year, with little or no detailed explanation; MFi hearing aid acoustic instability issues have been found and documented, but not explained, nor fixed timely, unfortunately. Thanks.

I use molds and music / podcasts sound amazing on my ancient quattros. Most people using domes will experience tinny sounds which can be awful.

Personally I use power domes with my Jabra EP 20 . With a small increase in the boost in the audiologist software and increasing base mids and treble in the music program I find the streaming quite acceptable given the tiny drivers. I enjoy streaming Amazon music
and YouTube videos.
When I use my Jabra earbuds (not the HAs) I miss out on the high frequencies though the base and mids are arguably more powerful.

My recent experience is that my Prezas “go to sleep” and totally turn off, after about 5 seconds during which the absolute ambient sound power level is below about 60 .
This means that they become totally useless.
If I speak, or if other sounds greater than about 60 dBA are present, then they will work as they should. It takes about 5 seconds for them to start working again, with the sustained elevated sound power levels.
In ambient noise environments which have continuous sound power levels higher than about 60 dBA, they will continue to work as intended.
This is truly bizarre behavior!
This began after the iOS 18 update, apparently.
Doesn’t mean “Made for iPhone”?
Explanations or solutions are welcome - so far I have not found any! Apple?
ReSound? Any comments?
Thanks.
Best, Bob.

Thanks. I haven’t yet seen anything locally which would indicate any utility whatsoever for me with .
Indeed, I am concerned that its audio control functions may be corrupting the hearing aid operations, in my case. I have separately posted about their bizarre behavior with several seconds of “latency “ dysfunction.
Thanks again. Best, Bob.

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for posting!
I have Costco ReSound Prezas, which are nominally from the same Denmark company. My separate post below describes their bizarre behavior; note that I do NOT use any app, instead using only the iOS built in control features. They are supposed to be “” hearing aids and I use Apple devices exclusively.
BTW, I had noticed that the app indicates 6 updates during the past year, but gives only generic (and useless!) descriptions of them.
Thanks again for posting, and good luck! ![]()
