Nebroo Infinity OTC Hearing Aides (positive review)

I could not find any reviews here for the Nebroo Infinity OTC hearing aides so I thought I’d post a review.

First, a disclaimer: I have very little experience with hearing aides.

I have been using Apple AirPods as OTC hearing aides and haven’t been pleased. Overall, they are OK but they tend to amplify the wrong things…or maybe better, they amplify everything. Walking through gravel, opening a candy bar, walking into a room with an air conditioner…all those things over amplified and unpleasant. I’ve spent a lot of time in the settings but to no avail. And speaking of settings - I’m an Apple guy but even I find the iPhone control app difficult and confusing. It’s frustrating to have to fiddle with the AirPod settings.

My partner recently surprised me with a set of Nebroo Infinity OTC hearing aides. I’m an over-researcher and over-thinker so the first thing I did was Chat GPT them.

The result wasn’t super flattering. They are mostly marketed on social media platforms. That felt like a red flag to me. Also, the marketing is overhyped, and dealing with Nebroo can sometimes be difficult as per CHAT GPT. By the time I unboxed them I was super skeptical and had low expectations.

Surprisingly, they are worlds better than my AirPods. The amplified sound is a lot more natural, and nothing is over amplified (like walking through gravel).

There are 4 different settings: quiet, restaurant, outdoor, and music / movies. I would say each one is effectively tuned for each environment. The restaurant mode was my least favorite…but I think it was more the overall noise in the room and less a shortcoming of that particular setting.

They seem to lock on to the persons voice and push it to the foreground. Same thing with music and movies. I am very pleased with the way they function and sound.

There’s 6 volume levels and I only need to keep them at 3 or 4 with my moderate hearing loss. Settings 5 and 6 are too loud.

Overall I am very happy with them and wear them far more often than the AirPods.

I think they cost around $200 and for that price, I think they do a good job.

I hope this review is helpful!

so I’m such a fan currently of nebroo. I bought the infinity because i wanted the ability to adjust to different environments and im in a lot of different environments. First test was a noisy bar with my nephew. I can never hear in a bar anymore and i usually smile like an idiot and pretend i can hear, i cant. This was the first time in a year i was able to understand every word he said, in a noisey bar. OK that was cool, then it was my grandkids (12 and 13) in the car, i was always going what you have to speak up..ahhhh, but with the nebroo in, i really can hear them.

NOW: i only have my left ear going med bad due to a chemical explosion on that side, and the one thing i hated, was the domes that fit into your ear…i hated the feel, i hated the feeling of it blocking out surrounding sound and i almost said nope this is not for me..but then i really read the how to section and one suggestion was dont use the domes. Game changer for me, the nebroo fit better and it allowed the amplified sound along with surrounding sound which made the whole thing just feel like normal hearing. If you follow their guidelines in adjusting to how they feel in your ear…at first your like ahh, my ear kinda hurts…but your not suppose to go all day at first, i did….after 2-3 weeks of using as suggested, i really kinda forget its in my ear.

NOW: they offered me a lifetime warrenty for $299….LIFETIME…..lose it, damage it, dog eats it ect, for $49 they will replace …ok, no brainer for me, im only 66, and i will surely lose them, and the battery will eventually not charge right?…and they will replace as many times as you need. Currently im working on getting more wax guards which they say you should replace once a month, so im talking to customer service, cause my warrenty says as many as you like just pay small shipping…that is $7.99, so trying to get 24 wax guards…

At this point 2 months in, im super happy, oh and the rechargeable case is easy and a plus, i usually keep it in my pocket and if taking out the ear piece i drop it in the case to recharge.

This is my first hearing aids and the low cost brought me in, now im sold on nebroo.

btw, i am a true customer not a bot or employee as some companies post not true reviews.

DO NOT BUY THESE HEARING AIDS!!! I purchased the in ear hearing aids with the blue tooth upgrade. While they are blue tooth you cannot adjust the hearing aids to your needs. All adjustments are automatic. When my dog barked I thought my ear drum burst because it was so loud and sharp. For me the in ear was too big for my ear canal. And, I could not adjust them as I said, and there was constant feedback from the hearing aids. I tried calling customer service (sorry I am old school) three times. Two times I was disconnected after being on hold for over an hour. The third time I was forced to leave a voicemail. When they call you back they call from an unidentifiable number, so you don't know it is coming from Nebroo. Then I send an email. They told me they called me from a certain number, but I had no calls from that number. I have been going back and forth with them since June. They supposedly have a behind the ear version of the hearing aids, so I said sure I could try those. I know those fit my ear canal. As I said this has been going on since June. They still have not sent me the behind the ear version, have not refunded my money, have not sent me any return information. They keep sending emails making promises and then don't follow through. As I said, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! You may never get your money back if you need to.
