Oticon intent wind noise

Talk to your audiologist, seriously do so. I wear the Oticon INTENT1 aids with ear molds and I have no wind noise issues at all. I wear my aids will riding my Vespa GTS300 Scooter at highway speeds wearing a half shell helmet, I drive most days with my windows down. I have no wind noise issues. Maybe it is the fact I went years and years driving and riding in vehicles that had no AC. And i have ridden motorcycles for decades without much in the way of hearing protection.

Wind noise is typically in the low frequencies so you might try reducing those first.

Oticon Intent has very advanced wind noise management. Ask your audiologist for an outdoor programme for this situation with wind noise management set to a higher than default level.

If you can provide an accurate reading of the on course wind levels this may also help guide your audiologist as to an appropriate solution.

As you say, you don’t have any wind noise problems which means that Oticon’s wind noise stabiliser is doing a good job for you.

It apparently isn’t for the OP and reducing low frequency gain is the only user adjustment he can try that he hasn’t already.

I’ve been in touch with audiologist that fit my HA and mentioned my issue with wind noise, also pointed out that the low frequency setting in app doesn’t do anything when I try to adjust it neither does the speech booster. I’ll wait for his response.

The Wind & Handling Stabilizer usually controls wind noise, but in the Genie 2 fitting software your audi can adjust the gains using the Fitting Assistant:

further to my last, I can see a lot of recommendations for changing the eq settings on your HA program to filter out the likely frequencies related to the wind noise, in my opinion this would make your issue much worse! all you need is to stop the wind blowing across the mikes

I have recently bought the connect clip. It connects my Bluetooth tv to HA. I hope it works well as a remote mic in noisy places, yet to try. What benefits have had with it user 246

I’ve been using Oticon More 2’s since 2021, and one of my biggest complaints is wind noise (just out walking the ). I’m thinking about upgrading to Oticon Intent 2’s, and I found this thread rather interesting. For me the wind noise is completely determined by the direction of the airflow over the microphones, turn my head a bit, and it goes away, but I don’t want turn my head, dang it! So now I’m worried that upgrading isn’t going to help that much. The More 2’s advertise “Wind Noise Management” and the Intent 2’s advertise “Wind and Handling Stabilizer”. I’m wondering if I’ll see an improvement.

While I don’t have Oticon HA’s.
My BTE HA’s do an excellent job with Wind Noise.
Except when the wind is from a certain angle from the rear.
I think that the wind is shacking the entire HA.
Turn my head and the other HA will shake.

That particular improvement reportedly came with the Real aids. I use them and can confirm that wind noises are well managed. There is a setting in the programming software where you can turn the “Wind and Handling Stabilizer” on or off. No idea why that feature should NOT be turned on, but I’d surely check.
