Satisfaction and accuracy of hearing aids purchased online

Can anyone share their experience with the accuracy and satisfaction of hearing aids they purchased online, e.g., FitHearing, Injoy, Wholesale Hearing Direct? Did the online company program correctly to the submitted and/or were you satisfied with the ’s the online company sent?

FitHearing was great. Great pricing, friendly, knowledgeable staff, very responsive. I don’t think you need to worry about dealing with them. I still think you will need a local audiologist to deal with fine adjustments that just can’t be done online, however.

Delt with them twice with mixed results. The first time was mostly good experience, but scheduling the audiologist was a bit trying. This time, recently, not that great of an experience. I got the impression that they were just too busy. After 3 tries and almost a month, never could have successful remote session and ended up returning the aids. Still trying to get my refund. I do not think they are a bad company, but very busy and problems to resolve.

I used Directear LLC. Several remote fittings were done…4 and they were very responsive. I got Signia Pure C&G 7IX; Im very happy with them. I am supposed to contact them soon for a follow up. BTW, Signia seem to be made for remote fittings but I am aware that some people have issues that only in person work can accommodate. My internet connection is not as robust as many, so the bandwidth needed was a bit tricky a couple of times but eventually was successful. Ive nothing bad to say about them.

Thanks for replying. If you don’t mind how long are you waiting for your refund?
I’m generally not a half glass empty person BUT in this case for the fittings I’m planning to get a local audiologist to do periodic checks, program modifications (if necessary), 6 month cleanings, etc. I know I’m spending $$$ for these but the savings on the price of the aids justifies that for me. Plus I’ve had aids for 6+ years and spent less than $500 on visists to the audiologist from which I purchased them. On one of the visits she changed the domes and that made a difference and I don’t see a remote session being able to do that, but I cpouild be wrong.

Buying hearing aids online lacks professional fitting and after-sales service, but the price is cheap, usually hearing aids. In contrast, buying hearing aids through professional fitting centers has higher satisfaction and accuracy, but the price is higher, because they can provide personalized fitting, precise debugging and perfect after-sales service.

Therefore, if the budget is sufficient, you can buy it offline. If you are considering an affordable hearing aid, you can buy an OTC hearing aid, which is suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss. It can be bought for a few hundred yuan and the effect is also good.

I have used Wholesale Hearing and their customer service is very good. I’ve had 2 remote sessions (phonak ) which worked well and I’m very happy with the result. If you have complex issues and require custom fittings then probably not for you, but I have a fairly easy loss to address with open domes so works for me.

A follow up to my assessment of Fit Hearing. Did get my refund and I really do believe the company is solid and honest. But if you are a person that has a complex hearing issue or needs several audiologist visits, I do not believe this is the place for you. Just too hard to schedule a visit with an audiologist.

I bought my first pair of , Phonak Marvel M90, to an audiologist practice on eBay about 5 years ago. I had to send them a photo with a coin next to my ear for them to select the right receiver length and my .
When they arrived, the receiver wire was too long and the fitting wasn’t very good. They didn’t offer a remote session with the purchase so that was it.
I payed a local practice for a fitting, which they did and it was better but they refused to do , so in the end that was a waste of money.
Once I finally got REM done and changed the receivers, in a different place, the fitting was perfect.

Thanks for the update and I agree with your opinion of FitHearing. I’m very skeptical of the online sessions for accurate and helpful adjustments so I’m still on the fence about what to do. Zip Hearing, to me anyway, is kind in the middle beteen strictly online and an audiologist. The Phonak’s I’m looking at are in the $6,500 to $7,100 range at local audiologist.and that’s a LOT of return/adjustmnet visits to pay up front.

I’m looking at maybe getting a Phonak Sphere off wholesale hearing, it is over half the price from everywhere else.

With my hearing I’ll most likely need a custom molds which I can get after the trial. As wholesale hearing is online only they won’t be able to do this. Anyone know the approx cost for a custom mold if I got it done from elsewhere?

Exactly my situation when I have bought one Sphere from Wholesalehearing from Glasgow :innocent:

I agree about the price ranges for cShell/earmolds.

However, I have one reservation about this store: they give me an M receiver even when I DID wrote them that my foregoing Paradise hearing aid has a P receiver! They probably suggest indications from Target Software, which can be misleading, especially if you have a larger-than-average ear canal…

@TBOX, in your case, maybe UP receiver should be considered (only with the cShell).

I purchases in the ear rechargeable digital hearing aid from china through aliexpress . It worked only for two weeks and now neither piece charges and it is proved to be a junk.
