How well do Phonak Table Mics perform in a noisy restaurant

I’ve never used a Table Mic but my understanding is that with a small table there wouldn’t be much difference between a Roger On and a Table Mic in the middle of the table. Table Mics really come into their own at a big table where two or more could be linked together. A LOT is going to depend on your baseline hearing and how everything is set up. If you’ve got really good low frequency hearing and an open fit it’s going to be a lot harder than if you a moderate loss across the board. Also in noisy situations hearing aid mics should be off and all sound is streamed from the Roger mic or mics.

Agree with everything MDB said. I have all the Roger stuff and use them all in different ways. But in a restaurant at a 4 or 6 person table the ON is as effective as the Table Mic. Not any better but just as good.

As said above the Table Mic will perform just like the Roger On in table mode. The benefit is that you can network two or more together without having to have one of the devices in a vertical position. I purchased two table mics on EBay a couple of years ago. Like the Roger they are good for a bigger table in quiet conditions but will amplify background noise in a noisey environment just like the Roger On.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback! I have one Roger On In at the moment so based on the feedback i think I’ll start by adding a Roger Clip On and have both clipped on people networked together. I also have a PartnerMic which is fantastic one-on-one but cant be networked.
