You are not paying much attention to . Phonak Spheres have the hardware for Auracast, but they have said they are not in any hurry to update the software for folks to use it. Remember a lot of folks buy Phonak for Bluetooth classic.
Philips has said they will update the software soon. What ever that means. So folks are assuming Oticon will be updated too.

Crikey, we have wheelchair ramps just about all over, so why give us hearing-challenged folks the short-shrift?
Because it costs money, money, and more money. So who is going to pay for it?
Many of these museums run on volunteer labor and operate on a shoestring budget. But that’s the beauty of . It can be done on the cheap. It won’t be professional grade, but it’s better then nothing.

No, Oticon has , but is going to release a software update for .
Phonak has claimed it is LE Audio/Auracast “Ready”, but neither have been enabled, and Sonova has not made any announcements as to when, so…

Ah, thx for that correction. I have not had Aurocast on my radar at all cuz I haven’t figured out the benefits.
The good news is how cheap Aurocast is as a solution. So perhaps even if it isn’t professional grade yet it could help some folks.

Reminds me how Phonak also claimed Lumity Life aids were “waterproof” and I personally proved that wrong with just one short swim in a pool.
I wish these companies would not beat chests and brag about things unless and until they were actually functioning.
Intention is no substitute for implementation.

You’re right! This kind of “Thingamajig plugging the ear” is still seen in MANY articles and ads for hearing aids. It’s disability profiling in the WORST way. I have never in my 70 years even seen anything like this, and as somone who truly walks the walk and talks the talk, I can stick my EAR out and say: this device is a piece of crap that would not help ONE SINGLE person hear better. Look at the fit! What about the comfort level? Does this instill confidence or inspire anyone to proactively attend to a hearing issue and ASK for a glob of plastic like this?
My Phonak Lumity Life aids are sleek, slim and HOT PINK. I have an identical pair in beautiful teal! They are superb for speech and music, and I show them off to anyone interested. But they are too sexy and appealing for anyone pontificating about a HEARING issue in some magazine, scientific journal or ad.

I currently own the Phonak Marvel Bro but I am trialing the Costco Sennheiser.
What about people who are deaf? They will need subtitles.

You are in a different regional plan, so that explains the difference. They have made some major improvements in our regional plan.
Last year it was $2,000 every year at no additional monthly charge. This year it’s $4,000 every two years with an additional monthly charge.

Is Jabra made by Resound? A hearing aid specialist told me that Resound doesn’t work as well with high frequency hearing loss. Is the hearing in noise improement automatic or only with a setting on the app? I am trialing the Sennheiser now and it has only been one week but the hearing in noise has not worked well for me so far.

Jabra is made by the Resound’s parent company. Folks here are saying that the Jarba 30 and the Resound Viva 9 are the same with a different label.
I don’t have a pair of Jabra hearing aids, but the impression I got was that if you want the maximum effect, you had it programed into one of the four programs. From there you would selected it as needed. The disadvantage is that it chews up the battery capacity.
Flyboy and another regular had an on-going discussion as to whether or not you needed to have a hearing noise setting programmed into the hearing for maximum effect.
Flyboy went to Costco and had them program the hearing aid with this particular setting and found that it chewed up the battery capacity much faster. This seemed to conform the other’s position that there is a difference. Unfortunately, Flyboy uses open domes, so he is not going to get the maximum hearing in noise benefit that the hearing aid can produce.
If you are not in a big hurry, then I would wait on the Sennheiser hearing aids to see if a new model based on the Phonak Sphere comes by the end of the year.

I wish I could “like” your post about a gazillion times!
My guess is they are trying to revive the market for ear trumpets!

Since a number of HT members have reported tinny sound from Jabras, perhaps they really are good for high frequency hearing loss in actuality.
I look forward to comes to manufacturers other than ReSound a,d Samsung and Google phones.

The title when I click in the image says, “Groucho ear trumpet.” As a fan of the Marx Brothers since my childhood, I can tell you with 100 percent confidence: that is not Groucho. Nice scrollwork on the grille of the ear trumpet, though!
