So, do you remove your aids and use the earbuds to listen to the TV?
Sometimes. My wife complained once that she could hear the sound coming out of the buds. That put me off a bit. Also they are a bit isolating. They sound pretty good though. I spent a lot of time tweaking them for my hearing loss.

Response from my tech on part number query:
SONOVA
USB-C ROGER ON W/ HEADPH OUTPT
PART#043-3098
Hope this helps. I did a google and it brought up a site that had them for about US$13.

Hmmm… I wonder if just streaming with aids would be the best alternative after all over the earbuds. With my Phonak Lumity Life 312s I can either have streaming + ambient noise, or press a “mute” button on my aids to kill the ambient noise altogether.
As soon as I do that tho, hubs has a million questions and comments about what we’re watching, LOL. I guess he just DON’T wanna be left out. ![]()

Update on my (UK) Sky glass 4K TV, without Toslink.
I’ve finally obtained ARC Audio Extractor that actually works, with my Phonak TV Connector (mk1), but sadly, it’s not all good news, as I haven’t managed to have the TV Connector AND the TV Speakers on at the same time. Once the ARC device is enabled, it switches the speakers off. This will be the same with Roger base units too.
If I connect via Bluetooth, there is an option of of “Bluetooth + Speaker”. Unfortunately, you can only connect one device at a time via Bluetooth, and the lag is greater.

The hdmi converter’s output is toslink? Get a splitter and a soundbar and or maybe other sound system.

The TV has a built in Dolby Atmos Soundbar. I gave up on it all yesterday, as I couldn’t get sound to the hearing aids. I’ve reverted to the Bluetooth on this TV

I’m not saying the soundbar isn’t redundant, just useful to have the connector and room sound at the same time. If the quality is good enough you shoot the engineer and move on.

The use goes back decades. I learned it in the mid 80s. Quick google found this usage5 much in line with the spirit of how I learned it.
