hi everyone,
I’m new here, live in the Netherlands. Use hearing aids for more than 40 years now. Was surprised to find this forum. Feel a bit like a dummie after reading some topics with very specific discussions.
My hearing loss is both sides about 85 db with the very highest frequencies faded out. I 'm testing Phonak Naida Lumty UP with a Roger On (after years with Phonak Naida Venture UP) Most of the time I use my aids in music programme.
Using the music programme is to have better contact with everything around. With the Lumity It seems I can hear a little better where sounds come from besides and back. That feels really better. But I’m a bit disappointed about the speech results (without Roger on)
Besides I’m very eager to experiene Oticon Xceed because of the 360 hearing and the brainhearing technology. But the dealer as well as the audiologist are NOT eager to let me test this, quite sad and disappointing. If anyone has an idea why this could be the case, share your thoughts.
For myself I 'm very interested in experiences of people with an alike hearing loss with Phonak Naida and Oitcon
And specifically what the experiences are with Phonak Naida Lummity / Oticon Exceed
- Subjective experience
- Speech
- Keeping contact with what is going on around you (picking up sounds around you, hearnig where sounds come from, recognising sounds)
- Additional microphone accessories (which did you try and is there difference in your communication quality in noisy situations between Phonak and Oitcon microphone accessoiries) Are there issues with userfriendliness?
Any opinions about other options to consider? (Resound probably?) Or are the Naida Lumity and Oticon Xceed the best options and why?
PS I prefer hearing aids with 670 batteries with compatible really good performing noise cancelling microphone(s) preferably without having to use a neckloop and with a high audioquality connection to gadgets with 3,5 mm audio jack and with a very privacyfriendly steady wireless connection with iPhone/Androidphone.
