Hello,

I know that this has been raised before, i.e. Phonak Spheres losing connection with Bluetooth. This is starting to irritate me a little as quite often I have to reconnect the hearing aids with Bluetooth. This evening, I wanted to listen to something on TV, but not only had the hearing aids disconnected, but Roger One was cutting in and out. Any thoughts/suggestions will be very welcome.

It was interesting to read your post re: the above and completely agree with all that you say. The ‘dropouts’, random disconnects and unreliable performance…’ are my experiences and have raised this with my audiologist. As you have said, nothing seems to work and the hype surrounding the Audeo Sphere hearing aids, is not only out of proportion, but makes false promises. It is unbelievable that so much is wrong with these hearing aids. All of which have serious repercussions for everyday issues. Your comment that ‘Sphere Infinio’s instability…compliance’ is spot on and it is interesting to read that all of these issues were not experienced with Marvel or Lumity. For my experience, I am a university lecturer and it is now a constant worry that these hearing aids will fail me in some way. Thank you for doing all this work and look forward to hearing more.

For the record…I’ve had my Sphere’s for one year and they are very stable. The only Bluetooth device that suffers from drop offs is my Dell work laptop and I attribute this to an older hardware and/or driver issue. Everything else is quite stable. Most drop offs occur because the user has left Bluetooth active on some other nearby device and that device is grabbing the connection.

For the record, I’ve had my i90s Spheres since January and connect them successfully to all kinds of devices: Pixel 8 phone, Phonak TV streamers, Phonak partner mic, Lenovo Yoga tablet, Samsung A14 phone, DLink USB dongle for an old Lenovo ThinkPad laptop, Hisense TV (direct). Right now I’ve got three active devices around me.. Pixel 8, Phonak TV streamer, Lenovo Yoga tablet. All three have Bluetooth on. No issues.

This is not a design problem. The only time I have connection issues is generally when the phone is in my pants pocket.

The TV I have is probably. too old for a TV connector so the audiologist suggested placing Roger underneath the set to see if that helped. Probably need a new TV but that is way down on the list of priorities.:disappointed_face:

Irregardless, I can have three different devices available and active with my I90s without apparent conflicts. There is an occasional glitch, like the other night, the Pixel phone rang while I was watching TV and the phone failed to connect to my , but that is the exception, rather than the rule.

The Phonak TV adapter v2 will connect to anything that has an analog headphone jack. I’ve used it on older airliners.

What I have found in the past nine months, is that my I90s actually have better range than the KS9s (Phonak product branded for Costco) that the replaced. They have larger BT antennas as noted in the online reviews.

Now that Google has enabled in Pixel phones, I’m looking forward to the promised firmware upgrade from Phonak to support the newer BT protocols.

Thank you for this. I do have Bluetooth on all the time on my work computer so that could well be the problem. If that is so, then I’ll have to live with this as I can’t turn Bluetooth off when I’m working. I hadn’t realised that, so thank you again.

Then you’re right, it’ll have a phone jack somewhere on it. Ironically, some of the newest TVs are now dropping it, but yours should have one.
