I wear all night long in bed. I use an old pair of Phonak Lumity that pair with my Alexa via Bluetooth. I listen to local NPR stations that offer BBC World news until 5:00 AM and switch to local programming at that time. The programming lulls me to sleep. I’ve done this for many years. Sounds strange, I know, but it works for me.

I sleep on my side and roll from side to side at night. I have never been able to sleep on my back because of sinus drainage. So I am feeling like wearing aids isn’t going to be an option. I wasn’t give the sleep test and couldn’t sleep because of all the wires that had on me ans the fact they demanded I sleep on my back. I will see what my audiologist has to say. I have been seeing him 7 years and he is someone I would trust with my life

I listen to audio books when I go to bed. I have both 3 year old Signia’s and brand new Phonak Sphere’s. Both have soft silicone ear molds and I use either pair at night.
I am almost 80 so never sleep more than 3 or 4 hours without a bathroom break. I take the aids out after I have been asleep and put them in the charger after the first bathroom break, so they are in the charger for about 5 or 6 hours each night and they do just great.

I have been wearing at night for maybe 10 years. My drivers are the same: want to hear alarms, want to hear what my wife says.
I wear an older pair that no longer has enough power for my loss, but it is sufficient for my needs at night. I have custom soft silicon earmolds, which make them comfortable in all positions.
One thing I have noticed: when I side-sleep, the downward side shuts off sometimes, I think it may be the replaceable 312 batteries need oxygen, and I smother them.
For me, this routine involves forgetting and re-introducing HAs to my iPhone twice daily, but that is just part of my morning/evening routine now.
I have newer HAs with custom molds that are hard, and the few times I have slept with them I can say they are uncomfortable in a side-sleep position.
The nay-sayers might say your ears ‘need to breathe’ but showering and watersports keep me out of HAs about 2 hours per day, and I haven’t had any problems in 10 years.
Cheers!

That seems to be the difference between iPhone and Android I have both sets of my Oticon aids paired to my Samsung S25FE as I did to the Samsung S23. Now the app cannot handle but one pairing but I managed that for a while by using the beta and regular apps, but now they have deactivated the beta app program. My problem with my two set of aids is the acrylic full skeleton ear molds. If I try to sleep with them on I get sore spots in my outer ear. Then I can’t wear either set at all.

Snazzy color scheme! Despite my pillow made for people with ear discomfort, which has a rectangular hole in it for the ear of a side-sleeper, I do get some pressure from my receiver wires. I might have to get some twists. Thanks for the info and photo!

The reason I want them is because my wife isn’t healthy and is a night owl. I am so use to going to bed early and end up having to go to bed and sleep. I want aids I can sleep with until my wife settles down and finally goes to sleep. Most nights it is at about 2am. After she is asleep I can remove the aids as I will be getting up long before she does. I do my best to remain up until 10 or 10:30pm.

I asked about this years ago when I got my first (one side) and was told it was not possible. Fast forward many years to today it is possible, I have heard, but I have not looked into it again. Maybe I will. I have an appointment October 1. I do not hear anything when I am asleep and it is a concern to me.

I can hear sounds like fire alarms, emergency sirens, even the refrigerator if i am close enough. And the celling fans. But I can’t understand speech at all. Sure I hear my wife talking but can’t understand a word. And she talks loudly until she is tired at night.

I don’t wear mine in bed, this is the time I allow for my Brian to switch off after the day of full on processing. I get tour wife gets frustrated, mine used to also but then when I explained that after a full day of processing sounds I need to chill out she understood.

You are lucky my wife expects me to hear her regardless of where in the house we are. I can’t figure out if she just doesn’t understand or doesn’t care or just forgets. Yes it is very frustrating.

I have pretty much the same problem. I sleep on my side and change sides several times during the night. What I have been trying to do lately is going to sleep on my left side with my right side aid in my ear. Later if I roll to my right side I will take the aid out. If there’s a reason I still need to be able to hear at that point I will take out the right aid and put in the left one. Most nights I just got aid-less when I reach that point in the night. My aids feed back if am laying on one that is in my ear and they are uncomfortable that way.

I have slept with just one of my older Phonak’s for over 10 years. I use the “mute” button to drop the decibels when I am drifting off; otherwise, feedback will wake me. Custom hard molds. Side sleeper, but usually one side more than the other, so I use the hearing aid in the hear that is face up the most. It did take getting used to and I had to change my pillow. The only other downside that I have experience is that I sometimes have to replace the mold as the wire eventually disconnects from the mold.

Oh my. Can you please supply a link to those wonderful twist covers? Couldn’t find them on amazon. Thank you.

I have used Phonak Lyric’s which stay in your ears day and night until the battery dies. They are very comfortable.

I wear my older to bed at night because I need to hear at night. I sleep on my back because of residual vertebral fracture problems. I would not be able to sleep on my side because the HA would dig into my ears. If you always sleep on the same side you can choose to wear a HA only on the other side. I wear smaller domes with my night HA and it helps.
