Phonak Ultra upgrade - how do we feel about it?

Now I wonder if this happened to my Spheres…and if it did, what settings typically get lost or altered. I’ve done a bunch of -ing since then, so I assume (or hope, at least) that I’ve undone any damage; at least things sound generally pretty good to me these days.
I can’t hearken back to any pre-update “golden age”, since my provider installed (Oticon) OpenBass domes but set me up in Target using the “open domes” setting - and I was kinda wondering why things seemed a bit more muted than they should be. Once I (eventually) figured out that I was using “incorrect“ domes, I switched to “actual” open domes - more feedback-prone, but more appropriate for my hearing status and my Target configuration. (I keep thinking about reverting to the OpenBass domes for less feedback and better bass when streaming, but I never actually decide to make the change; and I’m not sure how I would handle it in Target. Classify the OpenBass domes as “vented”, maybe?)
Well, at least I now have something new to feel insecure about - although I don’t think I was actually lacking in that department. Hmmmm…

That’s really stupid from Phonak not to tell the clinics this! Never before have we had simple firmware update “change” the settings, what does it change? Factory reset or what? Another great reason to I say.

I didn’t experience any issues. I wonder what is going on.

Some ethnic restaurants are quiet in my area. I have also found that restaurants that don’t serve alcohol such as diners can be quieter. So far the Middle Eastern and Indian restaurants are sometimes small and quiet.

The Dr. Cliff update is interesting, but in my case not applicable as my hearing aids arrived with the Ultra update already installed. I think my problem is that the streaming function can only be used one at a time. For instance (and I need to try this), will I be able to use the Sphere setting and the tv streaming at the same time? I don’t expect so. Or tv streaming and steaming music or anything else via my iPhone. again, I haven’t thought before to try. So let me know what you have discovered on this. But I’m thinking that the hearing aids use Sphere setting like it is streaming???

Basically, streaming - from your phone or some other source - is a separate program from Spheric Mode, since it’s using a Bluetooth source as your primary interest rather than your physical surroundings. While you’re streaming, your microphones are still picking up external sound, with the balance between that and what you’re streaming being adjustable through the MyPhonak app.

You may be right, but in the app it either shows Spherical mode or Bluetooth streaming or Roger streaming. Only one at a time. It may just be the set up of the app.

This is not a true statement in all cases. I have my aids set to mute ambient sound when streaming.
