Pairing the Multi-Mic+ together with two other streaming devices to a Nexia aid

Can anyone help me with a problem I’m having pairing Resound’s Multi-Mic+ to my Resound Nexia aid?

A friend has just given me a Resound Multi-Mic+ and I would like to pair it with my Resound Nexia aid. The feature intrigues me and I would like to make use of it. However, I am having a problem pairing it with my Nexia.

Let me explain.

My Nexia is currently paired with 3 streaming devices: Channel A - the Resound Mini-Mic. Channel B - the Resound TV Streamer 2. Channel C - the old Multi-Mic. I would like to replace channel C with the new Multi-Mic+.

The Multi-Mic+ does not allow me to do this. It will not let me pair it alongside the other 2 streaming devices. It does not give me that option. It’s the Multi-Mic+ by itself and that’s it. I am loath to give up the TV Streamer 2. I am not prepared to buy the new TV Streamer+ which uses Auracast and does not have to be paired. And I find it convenient to have access to the smaller and more portable Mini-Mic.

Any ideas anyone?

Actually you do pair the TV Streamer+ to your Nexias. You can find the user manual online easily enough if you want to check.

If the TV Streamer+ sends out an signal, why would I need to pair the streamer up with my Nexia which automatically picks up Auracast?

What you’re suggesting would seem to make sense and that’s what I tried doing but it didn’t work. Evidently the pairing procedure for the Multi-Mic+ is quite different from the pairing procedure for the Multi-Mic. Pushing the Multi-Mic+ pairing button three times doesn’t work the way it does with the Multi-Mic.

With the old Multi-Mic the pairing light (which is yellow) would start blinking three times, acknowledging it was joining channel 3. But with the new Multi-Mic+ the pairing light (which is blue) doesn’t blink, it just stays on continuously. That’s why I say if I pair the Multi-Mic+ with my Nexia I fear I will override all three of my current pairings.

Also, how exactly do I delete C? The only way I know is be by pairing a new streaming device over it. And the Multi-Mic+ streamer won’t let me do that.

Calm down and take a breath, delete the App and repair your , next add the Multi-Mic+ first in channel 1, add your tv streamer later, you can also delete the pairing in SmartFit software (add them as well)

Thank you for your input. I now have the Multi-Mic+ paired on my Nexia alongside Resound’s TV Streamer 2 and Mini-Mic. I tried out the Multi-Mic+ at a Rotary meeting this morning and was pleasantly surprised at how effective it was in picking up voices generally, not just the person sitting next to me. It was definitely more effective than my old Multi-Mic was last week. That must be the technology which we’re told is a technical advance. I’m always sceptical of marketing claims over “New and improved”. But here was direct proof of the pudding etc.

The new technology is actually Bluetooth Low Energy Audio (sometimes called LEA). is one application of that technology but if you have paired something to your Nexias then it’s not using Auracast as that doesn’t require pairing.
