Question about UP hearing aids

Hello everyone.

I’m currently using Phonak Naida Marvel M90-SP hearing aids. I did a month trial of Oticon Intent 1 MiniRITE hearing aids. I struggle a lot to understand speech and sounds with my current hearing aids and my trial with the MiniRITE was not very good even after the audiologist adjusting them several times, so I am returning them. I did a trial of Phonak Lumity UP but I noticed no difference between them and my Marvel SP, and one audiologist told me I maybe should do cochlear implant evaluation, but I prefer to first try UP hearing aids.

I did notice I prefer the Oticons because I can hear more around me than with the Phonaks, I used to wear Oticons from 2004 to 2014 or 2015, then got Phonaks in 2015 to today. With the hearing loss I have, what would be good hearing aids? I read that there is Oticon XCeed but I am not really “fluent” in all this.

I think I read resound has a new . Maybe look into that?

Im using Jabra Pro 30’s with P receivers, skeleton molds and having pretty good success for my loss.

Your loss isn’t so bad, honestly most could fit this, as @Jinxed has mentioned he’s doing ok with Jabra (ReSound) also as @WhiteHat has mentioned the , Costco would be the place to start, save thousands and get a decent trial period. As for that seems a bit off? as HAs will help with your level of loss.

I too believe your loss is bad at 3 to 4khz but that can still be handled by a with 100dB or 105dB receiver. for anything above 4khz most hearing aids would use a form a sound recovery to shift high frequency sound 5k+ into the 2khz range. that technology have RICs as well as UP.

So you wouldn’t need UP for 5khz+ sounds, you would use sound recovery technology anyways.

There is no Cosco near me, I am in the Balkans but thank you. I did think that the was too early for thinking of it now, kind of made me nervous, so I guess I will keep looking for the ultra power hearing aids for now.

Thank you. I am using the sound recover in my current hearing aids and it is not helping me very much unfortunately. Also when I tried it was hurt inside my ears canals I had pain, and very uncomfortable, so I will only be looking for a again.

I only look what is available from the local hearing aid shops (not sure if it is right word), where they have audiologists and technicians. I don’t dare to do on my own anything. I live in capital city so it is not issue for finding them. :slight_smile:

Okay then, you’ll be good to go, what kind of pricing is being offered by your local clinic’s in your part of the I world I wonder.

Have a look at my profile, although it is considerably different to yours, I am a Resound Enzo power user. And while things are not perfect, they are manageable.

If you’re looking for a power aid, I highly recommend trialling the Resound Enzo IA.

I was Phonak Nadia user from 2009 to 2015. I switched to the Resound Enzo in 2015 and upgraded to Resound Enzo IA eight weeks ago.

The molds were hurting in my ear, felt too long and too big, and I don’t know if this is gonna make sense but the feeling of sounds coming into my ear from the speaker in it was painful even when my audiologist tried to adjust it, I had like physical pain from that sounds. I always wear and I hated this feeling and sounds.
