Hi,
I’ve been wearing hearing aids since I was 2 years old (over 35 years now), but for the last 3-4 years I’ve been completely unable to find new hearing aids.
I’ve worn Oticon hearing aids for most of my life (Digi Focus, Adapto Power, Epoq – all power ), but each subsequent one (both Oticon and other brands) causes incredible pain in and behind the ears (stabbing pain). I’ve tried Oticons, Bernafons, Intertons, Signias, Phonaks – all had the same problem. I’ve tried BTEs, power BTEs, and .
Doctors say my ears are anatomically fine.
The venting is 0.8-1.0mm – with more, I lose sound and understanding. Skeleton type.
All hearing aids need to be turned up very loudly to start with.
I wonder why the older generation of hearing aids suited me both in terms of sound and didn’t cause pain.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve my problem and which direction to take? I’m wondering if, for example, a full-shell earmold would be a good solution for my hearing loss?
