Yes, but does that stop a new place from adding fees for patient adoption, warranty service, reprogramming, etc. This does not operate like car dealerships where one can go to any for that brand for the same cost.
For the loss/damage part of the warranty, each practice has a different deductible so what does one pay if they go elsewhere - the same deductible or possibly more or less?
I have an update: Costco in China now offers services, with approximately 5-6 stores operating under the same HA model as in the United States. At present, government incentives are providing a 15% discount, making the prices the lowest globally.
China definitely has a presence in the hearing-aid market. The database actually lists a number of Chinese manufacturers making hearing aids, including companies in Shenzhen and Jiangxi. So it’s not that China is absent from the market — it’s more that the big international brands tend to get most of the attention.
What I found interesting is that some of the familiar brands people discuss here have very different ownership stories. Signia and Rexton, for example, are both part of WS Audiology, while ReSound is part of GN. So “where is it made?” and “who owns the brand?” can be two completely different questions.
First on adjusting the : everything the typical HA does him/herself today (manual fine tuning with a Noahlink 2, etc.) should be reengineered from the beginning so that non-technical users gets better fittings.
Second: the ( driven) sound processing algos of the HA chips themselves has still so much potential.
The potential world market is even bigger than for electric cars! What are they waiting for? :)
