Phonak Sphere Firmware Update

As Phonak Sphere i90 have now been discontinued and replace with the improved Ultra i90, I’ve just had my Spheres updated to the latest Ultra i90 firmware. I now can’t get my aids to pair with the Phonak app with my Android phone. I tried pairing exactly as I’ve have successfully done in the past, but no luck, although I can still make and receive phone calls.

Has anyone else had this problem after their Sphere i90s have had the firmware updated to the new Ultra spec?

A suggestion any time you do firmware updates be it the aids or the phone. Forget the aids in Bluetooth settings. Delete all data from the app in settings, apps, and Myphonak, then reboot the phone then pair the aids again but by using the Myphonak app and let it do both the pairing to the app and phone. This is new with the latest Myphonak app.

Many thanks. I have tried this before and have just given it some more goes, but each time the app either recognises the left of right one, but not both together. Only the right one will go trough to complete the pairing.

I assume you’ve deleted the pairings and app, restarted phone, downloaded app again and put aids in charger so they’re starting up just as you try to pair? Nothing else in the area -wise that might interfere with the pairing? I’ve no android experience (although I think I usually spell it correctly) as I drank deeply of the koolaid a long time ago, and the new pairing procedure caught me quite by surprise. I’m very much accustomed to the three-pairings scheme of things.

Nothing else was done in target beyond update the firmware? And it completed fully successfully?

With Android you can go into the phone settings and delete all data, which is the same as deleting the app then installing it.

try updating the app on Android. Maybe the app is outdated. and in the bluetooth settings delete all pairings and then pair again in the app
