MDB and WhiteHat gave some good advice here to try!
What model of Phonak are you using? I had my audi program the Roger in Target so it delivers more ROGER, less HEARING AID MIC. However, as raylock1 pointed out, you’ve hit the proverbial wall in hearing challenges! We all have to deal with that seemingly unsolvable challenge. Many folks here say the Phonak Infiinio and Sphere compensate better for speech comprehension in LOUD places.
But like you, I’ve also been overwhelmed with Roger sound coming at me in LOUD places. The quality of the Roger seems to deliver harsh, almost public-address-style audio, too. Ugh.
I have older Phonak Lumity Life 312 battery aids and I find the best solution is to leave the Roger at home, put my aids into Speech in Loud Noise, and then try to literally position myself facing the person I most want to talk to! In large, noisy gatherings, you can meander about, but being bombarded with a cacophony all night long is simply exhausting,
Let us know what works for you, cuz the holidays toss a plethora of these noisesome functions at us.
