I have had my new hearing aids for about an hour now. And I can safely say, without hyperbole, that they are quite simply the best hearing aids I have ever owned. I am not overhyping them. This is my own honest feedback.
My setup was:
Phonak Naida Paradise P90 Loaner for my right ear
No
Standard acrylic earmold and tubing
My setup is now:
Phonak Audeo Infinio I90 Non-Sphere w/UP receiver
Phonak CROS Infinio
Rechargeable version
Titanium cShell earmold
Phonak TV Connector for my main TV set.
Please note that I am not doing any or anything like that at the moment. These are just from my audiologist’s settings as soon as I got home. And I will probably continue to use these and get used to my Infinio I90s until I feel like I need to do further DIY.
The benefits I’ve observed thus far:
- The Biggest Benefit for Me: Faster Sound Understanding
The new aids have resulted in faster understanding (it was getting to the point where I needed a few seconds to decipher what was said and how to respond). Maybe, it would take me a second or two to identify what was being said. Now, it is much less than that and I am so much more certain much more quickly what was being said.
With the Naida, I was not hearing well enough to be that fast at responding to anything quickly. Same thing with my Oticon XCeed 1 plus CROS.
- No More Itching Thanks to the Titanium Earmold
The itching that has plagued my right ear for the past five (6?) years since 2019 is completely gone. It has been an hour since I started wearing it, and the itching has disappeared and stopped for the first time. I still need to continue wearing these aids for much longer, but the results are already pretty outstanding for me.
- No Distortion of the Signal
There is no distortion in the signal. Which helps understanding tremendously It is a night and day difference compared to wearing the Phonak Naida Paradise P90 loaner I was using. I don’t know what happened - if my remaining hearing is just not compatible with BTE compared to RIC or what.
Anyway. I am truly enjoying my new setup thus far.
