Widex and Samsung phones. Recommendations?

I’m hoping to get some recommendations here. I have Widex Moment 330s, which have two more years on their warranty. I have a Samsung Galaxy A42 phone, which is over two years old (maybe three) which means I’ll probably replace it sooner than the .

The Moments used to pair with the phone, but lately they won’t. I’ve read all the advice I can find but nothing works. So I’m thinking maybe it’s the phone. If I get a new phone, I’m wondering what phone I might have the most luck with. Probably not an Apple! I don’t use a phone for much more than a few calls and texts, the occasional photo, and now an app with my HAs. So I don’t want to invest up to or over a thousand USD in a phone.

Thanks for any recommendations.

I searched and the A42 has : the Android protocol that supports . If they used to work together before, there is probably a glitch or misconfiguration that can be resolved.

The Moments only support ASHA (not the new ).

If you share the steps you have tried, we may be able to help you connect them and get them back to work .

Have you contacted Widex? , they have a customer support department for Bluetooth issues .

Here are the steps I have tried:

Re-pair in the app. Multiple times.

Reinstall the app.

Unpair the in the phone. Re-pair in the app.

Restart the phone. Re-pair in the app. Multiple attempts.

Nothing has worked.

I’m not sure what else to try.

I had an issue months ago with Bluetooth as well. Back then, it was impossible for me to pair my aids to any device.

The solution for me was to reset the Bluetooth stack in the Widex Programming software. I had to get that done at an audiologist office.

If all else fails, buy a second-hand Apple SE iPhone (2nd or 3rd generation). These were the cheapest iPhones when bought new, but shops did not promote them or have them on display.

In my experience, this iPhone model has rock-solid connectivity with my Widex Moment 330s.

I have some follow up to my issue. A visit to the audiologist revealed that my needed an update. Nothing in the Moment app would indicate this to me, but she discovered it. The update could all be done on the phone, once she got it started.

I don’t know how she kicked it off, because I restarted my phone and the app many, many times.
