Better Autosense or just not working?

Last year I upgraded from Phonak Audeo Marvel 90 (Autosense 3.0), to Lumity 90 HAs (Autosense 5.0). I like them mainly because they are pretty sweat/waterproof which was a real problem with the old 312 battery aids. However…

With my Marvels I could tell when Autosense changed programs - not a bad thing - and hardly ever used the other program options. With the Lumity HAs I can rarely, if ever detect any change, and find myself manually changing programmes (to Restaurant, Music or TV) pretty frequently, and to good effect. My question is this: Is it possible that my HAs Autosense isn’t working? If I didn’t have to manually tune so often I’d assume that 5.0 was just much better, but that is not the case!

Suggestions welcome before I return to my HA provider (Specsavers in the UK).

I have the Phonak Spheres, I never hear a tone to say they change settings but I can definitely hear the difference in background noise and how conversations sound. I am someone that has been wearing aids for 20 years an don’t what yo be bothered to think about my aids during the day.

Your provider can turn up or down both the speed and efficacy of the transition.

It’s likely the AutoSense IS working, but the default transitions are managed better: like a car with a smoother Automatic ‘box.

That was my initial thought too, but it doesn’t explain why I’m manually adjusting modes many times more than I did with my old .
