Is it possible closed domes are not good for me?

Looking at my , is there a possibility, however remote, that or moulds are not good for me? Every time I try them (and I tried several times, including at a hearing test a few days ago), I feel incredibly disoriented (can’t tell the direction the sound is coming from) and occluded. They sounds nice and crisp - there’s a good chance my word recognition might go up with those - yet the occlusion and disorientation is so bad I switch them to open domes eventually.

(Reason I am asking: one of my KS9.0 just quit on me, repairing will take two weeks and $270, and I am not sure I can last 2 weeks w/o hearing aids - which means getting a new pair. At a recent hearing test, the audiologist initially fitted me with closed domes that look like miniature balloons - then switched to open domes which sounded nowhere as good - yet the occlusion effect was largely gone.)

IMO, you cannot be fit with open domes. If you don’t tolerate , you likely will need custom molds with a small vent. Vented domes won’t work for you either. There’s just no way you are getting proper amplification without closed domes or a custom mold.

Note that when switching to closed from open domes, or a custom mold, the fitting software and rem needs to be redone from scratch as the parameters are completely different and that alone could cause the disorientation you described.

I tolerate the domes and the molds (vented or not) just fine in terms how they feel in the ears. What I can’t seem to tolerate is the feelings of disorientation and occlusion that I mentioned.

Costco did fully refit (re-programmed) KS9.0t with vented molds (and before that) - not doing this renders useless - and that didn’t work for me. (I don’t remember how long I’ve tried those - probably at least a week.)
