Using 2 different TV Phonak Connectors

I loved my Phonak Connector in our bedroom so much that we ordered one for me in our living room. Yes, you can use 2 separate connectors for 2 separate but nearby tvs! At first a problem occurred when both connectors were so close that neither was connecting properly. I tried several things first. I closed all my extra open apps. I turned Bluetooth off and on, then closed the app itself. I reopened it and found the best answer right there in my Phonak app. Lo and behold, suddenly there were 2 separate listings of TV Connectors in my hearing program list! I found that I can connect to either one depending on where I want to watch. This could be because both are close enough to each other to be interchangeable and therefore, initially were incorrectly matched up to what room I am in watching. The issue is gone now that both of the connectors appear on my app screen. I love having the connector to help me out and also the way I can adjust sound levels on the app for the connector. Worth it for me.

I usually disconnect them when I’m not personally watching. I had them on two different computers when I was still in my old profession. After retirement I don’t need both. I rarely watch television programming. The big motivation was power in the old p-90s. streaming just ate up more power than tv connectors or Roger connections. Since going to spheres, I rarely use the Roger for iPhone/ipad use.

Only having one connector lit at a time resolves a lot of confusion. But I can see the advantage of being able to go back and forth. You can probably use long presses on the button to program change between them.

What app are you guys using? I have three TV connectors connected to different devices but have never seen them appear on any app. I just try to remember to turn the one I am using off when I am done.

I had a sudden right ear hearing loss on 5-18-25. Spent the summer trying out various aids and settled on the Phonak. My audiologist automatically installed the Phonak app on my iPhone. That app offers various ‘hearing programs’ to choose from, i.e., automatic (aids adjust to setting I’m in automatically, TV, Music, Speech in Loud Noise, etc etc and now TV Connector is listed. Yesterday we installed the 2nd connector to living room TV and later on, that connector was listed in the program list. I assume most everyone has an app by Phonak on their phones? It’s in the list. I can adjust the incoming TV volume from the app or directly on the connector. Nice not to have to get up and mess with the connector when I just use the volume sliders on the app, Hope this helps!

Thanks WH. That option appears automatically on my app when using the TV connector but is not there when I am not. What button are you referring to for the long press. The app (or probably the aids) seem to want to attach to the TV connector when able since changing the selection to automatic only works for a minute or two and then reverts back to TV connector hence the need to turn it off. FWIW the Roger On when used as a TV or computer connector is worse since it has a greater range.

The down button on the aids held for a long press is “rotate through programs, one at a time” by default. (My words on the function.)

The tv connector, Roger, and streaming programs only show up when they are available. If the Roger is off, or the tv connector is off, you can’t see them.

I tend to use another program than autosense when I want to switch away from a streaming program. Next long press does it. The p90s had a calm program. In the spheres i can use the manual music or tv programs that come on the aids by default.

If you go out of range and come back, they are very likely to grab them again. You can have the provider change how it goes into streaming. You can get an audible notification and press a button to switch to the streamed program.

I presume you have the latest Sphere so you can use TV connecter 2, it’s got the buttons on top in the unit and Dolby Audio.

Here13 is one. I just picked the first one that came up on a search for “phonak tv connector v2” on eBay. Not a terrible price, No relation or connection to seller. Just the first that came up for me.

Thanks so much. I am in the process of getting the funds together to buy them. Believe it or not I actually saw them en ebay for $2500 rather than $5000 from audiologist but I am sure phonak will not honor any warranty if I do that.

i have a tv connector (in my bedroom),and want to have a 2nd connector (at my computer), my question is when i walk to my bedroom. will it connect to the one in bedroom, whenever i go to my computer, would it connect to the 2 one when i walk to it?

So did you get the mono problem sorted out?
For this question, depending on the distance between the two TVC’s maybe. I would suggest turning the TVC off when done using it. Turn it on when you want it.
