Unitron Moxi hearing aids

I read on here that Unitron is part of the Sonove group along with Phonak & Lyric. I was wondering if anyone has experience with Unitron Moxi ’s– I.E. which software is required and any particular hardware is needed. I tried searching the web and the few results that came back all mentioned some kind of box and cables though I don’t see and where to attach cables.

My hope is to try & tune the Unitrons for general use and just wear my free NHS aids in situations where there is a greater chance of losing one or both of them. It is far cheaper to replace the NHS HA’s than the Unitrons.

I always thought that HA’s were solely in the audi’s realm for adjustment until I found this forum and was pleasantly surprised to find out that with the right information, was a real option.
I really shouldn’t have been surprised as in thae past I was able to get a dealer level diagnostic scanner & software for my car.

I’ve fitted two pairs of them this morning Moxi Smile 9 on Flex Trial.

The fitting SW is Truefit, the App is Unitron Remote Plus and they run full Bluetooth. You need an Airlink 2 to connect for programming.

With your you’d need a medium power rec and enough occlusion on your domes - we use the Resound tulip domes, but others will suit as well.

What do you need to get you going?

I will need the truefit software and airlink 2. I have been using the unitron remote plus app since I purchased the Moxi’s about 3 years ago. My employer refunded me for the ’s as I needed them to participate in conference calls (they were a positive discrimination company). Without the help from my employer I wouldn’t have been able to get these. Now I’ve retired, I cannot really justify paying to have them tweaked by an audi as they were prescribed as a private (read paying) session rather than our free NHS system. The free HA’s arent anywhere near as good as the moxi’s but the moxi’s are no longer matching my requirements and I find speech is no longer as clear as it used to be. The free HA’s enable me to catch virtually all that is being said to me but that is the only good thing about them. I can stream from my phone to the new HA’s but the sound is abysmal and very quiet even with the phones volume at max. I also cannot pair the HA’s to my PC as I could with the Unitrons. I really liked the Unitrons and it would be criminal to relegate them to the drawer of forgotten things.

Just found this thread which, if I understand it correctly means that If I get a noahlink it should work with the moxi’s. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Just asking as I can’t seem to find the airlink 2 when searching. There is an airlink 2 on amazon but that is a wall mounted directional antenna.

Have a look at the self-programming section on this page. The Airlink 2 goes by a couple of names: again you’ll get links there. I have a supply agreement with Sonova, so I can’t help with the Truefit, but there are several people who have a ‘home-brewed’ solution.

Just FWIW, whoever supplied your aids in the U.K. will still adjust them unless they just shipped them off book without fitting included.

The problem is the audi was working out of a local opticians but she is no longer working there, it’s a ne audi and I don’t think they’ll support someone elses clients for free. I can ask though

Just updated my with the info stored in my NHS ’s.
The receivers are medium.
Waiting for them to charge so I can connect and see the difference in the audiogram when they were fitted and my latest reult.
