Hi everyone!
I hope your hearing is doing well :blush:

I have a bit of an unusual question and I’m hoping you can help.
Some time ago, I managed to buy a Phonak Lumity trial unit on eBay, and I’m absolutely delighted with it.

Now I’d really like to try the Phonak Infinio (Ultra) Sphere, but I can’t find any information anywhere about buying it in a trial version.

Does anyone know:

  • where it’s possible to buy trial/demo hearing aids (especially Infinio Ultra)?

  • any proven ways to get trial hearing aids (eBay, distributors, clinics, etc.)?

I’d really appreciate any tips, links, or personal experiences.

The companies are really vigorously locking down the resale of their newer trial units. They aren’t and never were supposed to be for sale. I too have a trial lumity that I reset every 12 weeks. Was a great deal for diy!

Mine was eBay shipped from India a year ago.

That’s a heavy loss you have for the Sphere’s, you would also need 105db custom moulds, I think those receivers are Sphere specific, if memory serves me correctly? Alongside Noahlink Wireless to reset your trial aids, as @DrJimmyJoeJimbob correctly says, your best bet, is eBay…I don’t believe these are sold anywhere else, well not legitimately, as they are trials…Good Luck, cheers Kev :wink:

You usually find trials after the new models are released and audiologist clinics are moving to the new modes and trying to get something for the old trials. Your best bet for the Sphers is one of the on line discounters, but as @kevels55 says you will need UP receivers which require custom molds.

Yes, I have UP receivers for Phonak Sphere but I haven’t hearing aids Sphere haha :slight_smile: I tested them and the speech was much clearer than with Naida Lumity.

Keep in mind that the receivers used with the Lumity will not work with the Infinio because of the different wire configuration.

Does this include digital 3D ear scanning (Otoscan)?
I have head that this is state of art but do not know how common it is?
Can someone enlighten me?

The problem I have had Rick, is getting an Audiologist to let me trial the Spheres, both different Audiologists declined, from different dispensaries, basically saying it was a waste of time! TBVH, I have had excellent results via the Naida Lumity’s, but as you are no doubt fully aware, the grass is always greener on the other side… Cheers Kev :wink:

I am looking forward to the new Phonak Nadia Spheres or similar technology with hopes it will help those with Profound hearing loss.

I bought.mine thru Ebay. Type in “sphere ultra trial” as they do not use the name Phonak in their ad. I bought the Noah link and programmed them myself. I copied the parameters from my Paradise P70 an it worked right away. I only have them a few weeks but I am happy with them. I think I will have to tweek the part of it eventually. My units came from India and they cost me $950.00 Us with the Noahkink. They also pointed me to the Phonak Target software page. Took me 2 weeks to understand the software. but now I seem to understand it.

They programed them to my latest , but I’ll probably have to change some of the settings for TV connector and tap control. Hearing aids have a ridiculous markup here in the US, plus the improvements for each new model are incremental at most. I’m currently using a pair of Kirkland KS10’s, so I’m hoping for at least noisy condition improvements. I doubt much else is going to be different in the last 5 years. It’s really a racket when it comes right down to it. I had my local Costco give me an out of warranty estimate to send my KS10’s into Phonak for repair. They always replace the electronics, receivers and case anytime I’ve sent any Sonova in so you essentially get a brand new aid. The charge a whopping $135 per aid to do this!

very good :slight_smile: I am very happy with them; despite my profound hearing loss, they work great! I had to buy custom the UP receivers and and I often have to replace the cartridge/filter in the receiver. What I’m most pleased about is that these hearing aids don’t whistle on me so often, and I can hear speech in noisy environments.
