Those with the Nucleus Smart app should be on the look out for an update. I use an Android phone so it might be particular to Android, not sure about iOS.
I didn’t get any information about the update so can’t help with that.
Can I pair both the off-ear (Kanso) and on ear with the Nucleus 8? I paired the Kanso without issue but can’t seem to see how to pair the on ear so that I can use the app with either. Willingly admit I am not the most tech savy.

No, only one per ear. You will have to unpair and forget the one you are not wearing in the Nucleus Smart app and also the phone to get the other processor paired and enable streaming.
I remember when I first got started with . Swapping processors was almost scarry. After doing this a few times it gets very easy and you will understand the process. used to be different than bilateral but not sure about that now. When all else fails, read the manual.
It’s frustrating that both processors can’t be paired at the same time. But, it’s a conflict to the phone. Only one streaming source at a time.
Thanks - at least I know it’s a phone/app limitation vs lack of skill! I have the off ear paired to the remote and then will just leave the Kanso paired to the app. I am not skilled yet on using the Kanso and the streamer by turning it on with a long press…doesn’t seem to work for me. So will just use the work around! LOL THANK YOU

I don’t understand this statement. Which Kanso do you have? The K2 and K3 have tap control for on and off only that I know of. Long press is the N7 and N8 if I remember right.
Welcome to my world! I’m , and I still can’t pair my N8. It’s been 6.5 years now still can’t pair it. It’s 5:30am here I’m sitting here having coffee. I tried to check my NS app for the update @Raudrive mentioned, I got the message “can’t find the processor”
I keep telling myself that the has to link the so why bother….
I have the Cochlear TV Streamer hooked to my tv. I have the Kanso 3 and directions say that after pairing if I press the middle of the kanso for 3 seconds it will turn on the streamer. (Similiar to tapping on/off but a simple press and hold…simple if it worked for me.)
Well I paired the Kanso to the app so that was o’k. I didn’t see an update come thru yet for my app on Android. I did think that the timing allowed to “pair” was very short. I basically sat with my processor in charging mode, told the app to scan and then quickly get processor active. I felt extreme pressure.
Welcome to my world! I’m bimodal, and I still can’t pair my N8. It’s been 6.5 years now still can’t pair it. It’s 5:30am here I’m sitting here having coffee. I tried to check my NS app for the update @Raudrive mentioned, I got the message “can’t find the processor”
You shouldn’t need the audiologist to link your phone with the cochlear device. At least not on iPhone. Are you pairing it using the general iPhone Settings app? Settings app —> Accessibility —> Hearing devices? Don’t pair it from within the Cochlear app or from within the iPhone Bluetooth devices section. (If you have done so already, you need to remove it.)
You shouldn’t need the audiologist to link your phone with the cochlear device.
If I want both N8 and to “stream” bilaterally, the had to “link” the HA on the mapping computer, to connect all 3 devices. If this doesn’t happen my HA won’t stream at all. As my HA ear has severe profound loss the HA is useless by itself when not streaming. Even if I get a new iPhone I have to go back to the AuD to have the link reconnected. This happens with all recipients worldwide, not just me being seriously technically challenged.
It’s painful, believe me! I’ve seen 2 surgeons hoping to go bilateral implants, both surgeons have said no unfortunately. This is how it has to be until Cochlear alter and update the firmware!
