Oticon EduMic - group/classroom setting

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience of using the Oticon EduMic in a group setting, particularly a classroom setting where it can be placed on a table? I understand it is a microphone and its primary function is to give it to the talker of interest, but I also want to place it on a table and wonder if it can help out in picking up voices like the Phonak Select/Table accessory?

Okay. I got no response to this.

So I bought one.

As a microphone worn around the neck, this is an excellent product. I gave to my German teacher and the sound was crystal clear.

As a microphone that is placed on the table, it does provide some benefit, but it is not as good as the Roger. However, it is a quarter of the price, so I’m not complaining.

I have also used it to give a boost by placing it in front of a phone when used in hands free mode. This worked well.

I’m also impressed by the range. I could hear downstairs very easily, through walls.
