Buy Sphere Infinio or Stay with Lumity and buy Roger On

I currently lave Lumity 90 aids but struggle in loud noise.

In addition my TV connector has died and needs to be replaced.

The Infinio Sphere reviews are tempting but expensive

Would buying a Roger On and continuing with my lumity aids be as helpful as Infinio Spere coping with noisy environments. It would also presumably serve as a TV connector.

The Roger is just a remote mic. It works in noisey situations if the person you want to talk with is wearing the Roger. But it can easily be over powered by noise since it amplifies noise as well as the individual’s voice. It does not have any noise reduction technology. The Infinio Sphere does have some noise reduction technology. I find I seldom use my Roger after I got Spheres.

At least in the US you can pick up a used Roger On iN pick for about $200 on EBay. If you consider that option I’d get a version 2 or 3. It can serve as a replacement for your TV connector and help in many noisy situations. May not be as helpful as a Sphere but it’s thousands of dollars cheaper. If money is no object, sure go for the Spheres. If you eventually got Spheres Roger would still be compatible and useful as a TV connector.

I tried the Phonak Infinio Spheres for a few months. IMO, they didn’t live up to the hype so I sent them back and am back to my Lumity I90s. I wish I had the Infinio I90s back. My hearing loss is much worse than yours, though.

The Roger is more powerful in noise than the sphere, but more annoying to use. Whether the spheres will support you enough in noise to satisfy you is a bit individual. Any chance to trial them? You’d need custom tips though.

… and your Lumitys have a finite life. They were probably designed for a 5 year lifetime. They may last longer, but they won’t last forever.
