Phonak sphere streaming and ambient noise

I currently have lumity and, in order to get decent volume streaming in noisy areas, I need to go into the app each time and adjust the ambient\music slider. To bypass that, the audi set it so the microphones turn off when streaming.

Question: will that be the same for the sphere or do they let you save a modified Bluetooth streaming mode?

I have the Spheres and I do use the app to adjust how much environmental sound I want while streaming. I seldom set to totally mute the microphones.

You can tap on the autosense at in the app, that will tell you the setting the aids are using then at the lower right of the app tsp adjust and you can make adjustments to help.

Not when it’s streaming. It becomes ambient when it’s streaming, at least on the iSpheres. Audi told me that there is no way to configure it any other way. You had to use the app for volume control if the streamer is hooked up via TOSLINK, or a DAC of some kind.

At least you have better control over the aids with the app. For 15 years I wore Oticon aids and the apps were very minimal in what you can do. My only grip is that with the Roger ON3 plugged in to my TV my aids automatically switch to the Roger ON3 and start streaming the TV as soon as the TV is powered on. I seldom watch TV but my wife turns the darn TV on as soon as she gets up or is at home. It is irritating. I switch to my aids back to autosense or another program and it switches back to the Roger ON. I end up unplugging the fiber audio cable.

@Chris_K This is correct. To verify for yourself, play with the app and see what changes when you use the button. It seems to be volume at first to your ears. It gets louder or quieter because less or more ambient is betting mixed into what reaches your ears. Then use the volume slider while streaming. Compare the difference between that and the ambience slider.

Has been this way with my p90s and my i90 spheres. Most helpful streaming in the car to cut down road noise. Have to turn the phone volume down after turning ambience up.

The V2 Phonak TVC has a power button on the top. When I want it on I turn it on. When I am done I turn it off.

@WhiteHat : It’s what I do in a plane watching something. I turn the aid volume all the way up to lower ambient. Then also use closed back headphones (not connected to anything) to lower the ambient even more thereby being able to lower the volume of the source.
I have a set of cables for travel and leave the home ones at home. I just take the TVC.

When you say you raise the volume, are you talking about the buttons, or the volume slider in the app? As I said, the buttons change ambient, not volume. If you want it louder beyond what the buttons give you, you still have the volume slider to give you more.

I don’t have the TV connect I have the Roger ON3 that the base connects to the TV.the only other thing I just figured out is to remove the ON3 microphone from the base station. Which is how the Roger ON3 charges.

Maybe my TVC is faulty but I’ve found that if I have its “volume” up high then it seems to cut out due to maybe getting too warm.
So I use the aids volume to control ambient. I have the TVC in the middle. I manually control volume on the source I’m watching as a normal volume. I rarely use the app for anything.
