My trip to the audiologist was mainly successful. Background noise is now well suppressed. But the aids prefer to change to Sphere rather than speeech in car when there is loud road noise. Thus on a long journey running down the aids batteries more quickly.
Without a passenger the Speech in car programme is adequete enough for me.
I will get this behaviour changed on my next visit so that I can manually invoke Sphere when necessary..
Whilst at the audiologist I collected my replacement Roger On In V3 . The original (ordered with the Sphere aids) was faulty - the base station didn’t work and I was unable to use it as a TV connector or charge the Roger. The Roger works almost perfectly but I need advice about the role of the base station which is connected to the TV by a Toslink cable and power from a USB cable plugged into a mains USB adapter.
If I leave the Roger plugged into the base station - even with the Roger switched off - when I walk into the lounge, the My Phonak app on my samsung phone, switches from Auto to Roger but because the Roger is off, I hear only ambient sound at low volume. I thought that it should only do this if the Roger was on. I am having to leave the Roger out of the base station and switched off to prevent the unwanted program changes using a Separate USB cable to recharge it.. Incidentally this happens when the TV is on or off.
