Cookie bite hearing loss, 1st set of hearing aids

Hi everyone. I’m looking for an AudD with experience programming for cookie bite hearing loss. I’m purchasing Phillips hearing aids from Costco and they can be programmed by anyone with the software. The Costco folks are def not experienced with my type of hearing impairment. I’m in Spring Valley, NY. THANK YOU.

Have you found a fitter that will program those Costco aids? It’s usually difficult if you didn’t buy the aids from that fitter.

I found a place near me that will service hearing aids not purchased from them. I’ll have to call to see if they have or are willing to download the software.

I’m preparing to look elsewhere if needed. My type of hearing loss is very rare and I’ve read it takes expertise to program for it. How difficult is it really? No idea. But the hearing aid tech had never heard of cookie bite and just smiled politely when I tried to explain it to her. Hope for the best, with a plan B.

No I wouldn’t say cookie bite is rare and difficult, it’s pretty easy enough for any fitter to set these up in the software, the outcome depends on the individual, nothing at all special about it at all, why not just and try and get the outcome your hoping for, you’ll probably do just as well, get Costco to do the first fit and tweak them yourself at home.

There are a number of members on this forum that self program their aids. Some are very good at it but not all. Tenkan is one of the good ones that is very helpful if asked.
