Powerbank to charge Hearing Aids

Hello there, i bought the anker 737 powercore a while ago due to my country is power outages (lol i know it sucks) but when i try to charge my signia hearing aids with the desktop charger connected to my powerbank it worked but only for a few minutes before it stopped charging at all. Has anyone else experienced this ? I would really like to make it work since it’s an awesome powerbank and also that my country is going to have another power outage again haha so I’m looking for solutions to this inconvenience.

That is because the powerbank stops the charge when the current drain goes below a threshold. Check to see if there is a setting for continuing charging .

Their instructions say you need 30-90 mA to keep low current mode alive, and it only lasts 2 hours. Last time I checked on my old Phonak Audeo Paradise charging, it was right on the edge of 30, so this might still not work. But let us know how it works out for you. There’s another brand power brick that should work if not.

All power banks don’t work to charge hearing aids. Only ones that can “trickle charge”. This has been addressed here many times before.

If your power brick won’t work to charge your aids, look for bricks with “Always on feature.” A brand I’ve purchased for this purpose is Voltaic.

Yep so i went right ahead and test it with the trickle charge and i thought this it haha but no after almost 1 hour and 30 min that took to charge my hearing aid that was at 70% the powerbank turned off so i guess yeah you were right even with this mode is still not reliable enough. I will check that brand of battery, thank you very much Sir.

Perhaps charge something else that has a long time to charge and perhaps doesn’t take a lot of power to help keep the brick awake, and thus get your aids charged. The web says you have three ports. If the other device is too hungry, your brick may deplete before the aids get charged. Experimentation may help you solve this without further financial outlay. :slight_smile:
