Hi All,
Any literature or manufacturers notes in using dehumidifier to dry rechargeable hearing aids, especially using Dry Lux dehumidifier?
Thank you

I can’t find anything on the web. You will probably need to contact the manufacturer.
I can’t see any reason why it would need to be pointed out specifically anymore than the other electronic components.
I’ve been using my PerfectDry Lux for 8 years on my rechargeable Oticons Opn, More 1 and now my Intent 1’s without any issues.
What specific concern do you have about sealed rechargeable battery hearing aids?

I have been wearing rechargeable aids for about 6 years. I was told by my audiologist that the dehumidifier wasn’t necessary and could actually be harmful to my aids. I sweat a lot and live in an area that can be very warm and humid. I haven’t had any issues with my aids.

I don’t believe for a second that the PerfectDry Lux is harmful to any hearing aids.
I have nothing to back that up though so I sent an email to the manufacturer, MG Developpement (US Division), for a definitive statement on the question. Hopefully, I will hear back from them. I will post their reply when/if I do.

Morning all,
The images do not read that well for me can i remove the receiver wire from my oticon intents and place that in the dryer while the aids themselves charge?

That is an unusual practice. It’s probably safe enough to do in the PerfectDry Lux.
Do you do that often? I think the bigger issue would be putting your hearing aids at risk for collecting moisture internally while having the receiver removed for long periods of time.

Thank you,
But is this for the 35°c one or the 40°c model?
As they have two types of Perfectdry Lux, PDLO (40°c) and PDLC (35°c), I saw on another thread on this forum?
Hi everyone I have rechargable hearing aids and I’m considering purchasing a heated dehumidifer but the temperature it operates at is crucial. From what I’ve read there are 2 versions of the PerfectDry Lux heated dehumidifier. Version 1 runs at 40 degrees C for use with disposable battery hearing aids and Version 2 runs at 35 degrees C. Version 2 was brought out for use with rechargable hearing aids. Can anyone tell me how to identify Version 1 and Version 2 as it is not made clear on Perfe…

I have not used rechareagble before my intents will be the first when I get them, currently I use widex moment 440 with battery and put them in the dryer every so often. I assume you would still want to dry the receivers of rechargeable

My question to her was about the PerfectDry Lux. If the The PerfectDry Lux version made a difference she would have mentioned it with a warning.
Maybe contact your Hearing Aid manufacturer and see what dryer they recommend for your hearing aids.
Edit to Add: Version 1 40C is at the upper end of safe for rechargeable batteries. Version 2 35C came out to address concerns users were expressing for rechargeable hearing aids and is good for both rechargeable and removeable battery hearing aids.
PerfectDry Lux version 2 came out in December 2015.
The newer models V2 - Serial Numbers start with PDLC
Original version - Serial Numbers start with PDLO
Mine starts with PDLO, so it is one of the original versions.

Thank you.
This at least clears any misunderstanding.
So 40 or 35 it doesn’t matter which type of heating aids you use it with, both boxes work with rechargeable hearing aids without any issues.
Jobs are goden

I am getting oticon intents, how should i go about removing moisture since my audiologist recommended I NOT remove the speaker wire and clean that separately as the aids themselves charge.

Pardon my ignorance, how will this work exactly without damaging the battery? I crrently use a dryer from amazon called the worlds fastest hearing aid dryer not sure who makes it but it plugs in Via micro USB and looks like a hearing aid carrying case but a little larger.
